We usually like Burgerville, but yesterday my wife wanted to go there for lunch but I was looking for something else - anything that wasn't a burger. So, I ordered the Wonton Chicken Salad.
The problem: There wasn't an appropriate Asian style dressing to go with the salad.
Am I really supposed to put Ranch Dressing on an Asian Salad? Really? The guy taking orders did not even have a suggestion. He just mumbled a partially audible list of dressings, I very reluctantly picked the cider vinaigrette since that was one of the options that happened to be audible, and I asked asked about dressings a second time when he arrived at the table with our meals. Again, he mumbled a partially audible list of dressings, and we were so frustrated by him, we just sent him away.
The dressing was not enough to dress the salad, and it had absolutely nothing to do with an Asian style salad. The salad itself wasn't great. The greens were very difficult to eat with a plastic fork- they wouldn't stay on the fork and you couldn't use the fork to spear it, so I ate about half the salad using my finger to balance the greens on my fork, most of the greens fell off my fork every single bite, and I left feeling very irritated and still hungry.
The only truly edible part of the salad was the deep fried chicken, which honestly did not satisfy my desire to eat something healthy. The whole experience was terribly disappointing and perplexing. Why would they have this item on the menu without having a dressing to go with it?
If Burgerville is going to offer a salad, they need to do much better. If they do not have an Asian style dressing to go with their Wonton salad, which is presumably Asian style because of the wontons and sesame seeds, maybe Burgerville just...
Read moreThis is our favorite burger place on the planet. Every time we find ourselves in Oregon, a stop at Burgerville is a must. The "Number 6" with Tillamook cheddar is an absolute delight, with perfectly cooked patties and that unbeatable Tillamook flavor. It's not just a meal; it's an experience that keeps us coming back time and time again.
The milkshakes at Burgerville are out of this world. We tried the Oregon Strawberry and Portland Cold Brew milkshakes, and they are hands down the best freaking milkshakes in the whole Sagittarius A* galaxy. The richness and flavor of these shakes are unparalleled, making them a perfect treat after a satisfying burger.
The quality of the ingredients at Burgerville is something to be applauded. From the fresh, locally sourced produce to the exceptional Tillamook cheddar, you can taste the care and dedication that goes into every item on the menu. It’s clear that Burgerville takes pride in offering not just food, but a true taste of Oregon.
Beyond the food, the service at the Hillsboro location is always top-notch. The staff is friendly, efficient, and always ready to make recommendations. Whether you're a local or just passing through, you'll feel right at home with their warm hospitality.
In conclusion, Burgerville in Hillsboro, OR, is a standout in the fast-food world. The combination of incredible food, fantastic milkshakes, and outstanding service makes it a must-visit. We always leave with full stomachs and big smiles, eagerly anticipating...
Read moreStopped in at Burgerville in Hillsboro for lunch with my family. I will preface that this was only my second time eating at Burgerville.
I found the service to be quick - considering that food is cooked fresh to order. All servers that I encountered were very helpful and it was a nice treat to have our food brought to our table.
The food tasted good. You could taste the difference in the beef in the burgers. Beef tasted fresh and wasn't overly seasoned. You could really enjoy the taste of locally sourced beef. The accompaniments were fresh as well, all around a good tasting burger. The fish burger, on the other hand, was dull and disappointing. The piece of fish was on the small side, much smaller than the bun. Since the beef tasted so good, I expected the cod to hit as well, but sadly it was very ordinary. It also had a slight "fishy" taste - and I know, I know, I was eating fish, but again, I was expecting a much fresher - less processed product. The fries were very good, so were the Walla Walla onion rings, and my kids enjoyed their chicken tenders and plain hamburger.
I would eat at Burgerville again, but I would stick to the beef burgers and fries. That said, Burgerville is much more expensive than other burger chains, so the expectation needs to be set that if you want a quality burger, then you need to be willing to...
