Ichi Teriyaki — Restaurant in Hillsboro

Okay, there are several things you have to know before coming here. The most important is that this is a fast serving (not fast food), medium priced, quantity focused, and good at what they're trying to do.

It's not a fine dining experience and it's not a full sit down and eat sorta place. Instead it's a good pit stop or place to check out when you're in the area and for that I think it's amazing.

The food itself is prepared and served faster than for some McDonald's meals and is of better quality and scores better in the cleanliness department than pretty much any fast food place. That being said it can be a bit blander or mild, but even this can be a good thing (I like buying extra rice because my taste bubs are sensitive.).

If you're gonna be driving buy or are in the area (next to the fairgrounds and airfield) then this is a great place to go as everyone will have plenty to eat and be satisfied with...

I just went here for lunch based on the great Google reviews but it was very disappointing. I ordered the General Tso chicken which was not good at all. Actually, it was pretty TERRIBLE. It was bland and not spicy like it's supposed to be. The breading was soggy and had a weird texture to it, like maybe it was previously frozen. The sauce was very jelly-like and bland. Even the rice was dry almost crispy. I didn't even eat the small side salad which was obviously from a cheap iceberg lettuce mix. Honestly, after eating a bit of it I'm hoping that I won't get sick. I'm not sure what their other dishes are like, but I would guess that they are of the same quality as what I had. Read the reviews on Yelp before you go. For once, I trust and agree with the Yelp reviews instead of these...

Decided to try Ichi Teriyaki today, for lunch with my partner. We ordered Teriyaki Chicken, General Tao's Chicken, and an order of Gyoza. We dined in and didn't know that the meal came with free Egg Flower Soup and ice water. The soup was deliciously light; I'd come again just for that! Everything else was also delicious! Side sauces were provided with the meal, which is always nice, and it turns out they have the best gyoza sauce I've ever had. I've been looking for a good teriyaki place in Hillsboro, and Ichi Teriyaki definitely takes the #1 spot. We will be coming back for more teriyaki and eventually try...
