When I get sick the only thing I want to eat is the cheddar broccoli soup from Panera Bread and I usually get the soup for group and a whole french baguette. I went there a few months ago when I was sick and they very sloppily put together the soup and it was kind of leaking in the bag before I even got out the front door, thankfully I decided to set it down and look before exiting. I opened the bag and reached in and it got soup all over my hand so I walked back to the counter and asked if I could have it re bagged because the soup had gotten everywhere, I literally had the French baguette cupped under my left arm and the bag in my right hand with the soup on my right hand... the girl grabs a bag and says here I'll give you a bigger one (because the normal size would make too much sense apparently) and puts it on the counter and turns away, I said "well I got soup all over my hands could you maybe help me?" hoping this would give me a chance to wipe my hands off and not continue to get them dirty by reaching in and I only had one arm to work with cuz I had the bread under the other one. She just looked at me for a minute so I said fine I'll do it myself. After I made the swap getting yet more soup into the new bag cuz I couldn't wipe off the container with one hand while holding it with that same exact hand I decided I'm just going to leave this used bag on the counter (why even try if they're not going to) and before i was ready to do so the girl says "just leave the bag I'll take care of that for you" ... I wanted to say to her well isn't that so kind of you to help a sick person with their trashed bag and not their spilled soup, but I decided she wasn't worth any more of my time and I left. I've only been to this location one other time before this and the service was good. I can't completely condemn the place because of one person but it definitely makes me unsure about going there again if I ever get sick in the...
Read moreYesterday: The guy taking order was either distracted or stoned. He asked same questions over and over...I answered the first time every time. He didn't indicate at any time he didn't hear the answers and appeared to hear and understand. We ordered two sandwiches (one half and one whole) for dine in and a salad w dressing on side to go. With 2 cookies - when the total was over $35. And change I was asked (twice) if I wanted to round up. Twice I said yes but was given change anyway. I was a little surprised at the high price but that's life these days. When our order was up they had the salad dressed and for dine in and the half sandwich but not the whole sandwich. It wasn't on recipt and wasn't put in. Both my friend and I were rudely spoken to by the employee who told me they would re make salad because that was their mistake, but I had to go re order the whole sandwich because evidently that was my mistake...even though I had ordered it and repeated it to the guy ...I went up to re order that (another $14 making the meal total just about $50.00) and when I went to pick sandwich up and asked about the salad and the SAME PERSON who had 3 minutes ago rudely told me I didn't order what I had etc. Barked at me "What salad?! I don't know anything about a salad!" Another employee swooped in and got salad for me but said nothing. No apology etc. I understand people have bad days. I understand people are over worked and under paid and mistakes happen but, dang. This was 3 employees and it's Panera! Train your people to have a modicum of consideration and grace. I just paid almost $50 for 1.5 sandwiches, a (small) salad and 2 cookies. This is equivalent to almost 3 hours of my own hourly wage. This ONE Panera has soured me on EVER going to another one. I have been treated better at a taco truck - for a fraction of the cost! And fyi - their new French dip is NOT worth even half the price they...
Read moreOur organization ordered catering from this location for a staff event and it was a disappointing experience. We spoke with a staff member 1-2 weeks before and specifically requested to order the Fuji Apple salad without chicken and cheese to make it vegan and gluten free for about 1/4 of our staff. We also requested the cookies to be on the side to ensure those boxes were gluten free. We’re almost 130 staff members.
When the food arrived, not only were cookies not on the side as we had requested, but the salads we had customized to be vegan still had cheese on them. 1/4 of our staff were not able to eat their lunch and were validly disappointed.
I contacted the location and requested to speak with their manager. When I tried to explain the situation as calmly as possible, the manager, Skyler, kept interrupting me to explain that their team would not ever make such a mistake and basically blamed us for ordering something that wasn’t actually vegan. When I pushed back on the cookies not being on the side, Skyler once again interrupted me to tell me it’s because they had them delivered the night before. Unclear how this affects the situation.
I understood where they were coming from but I let them know I spoke with their catering associate weeks before and customized it without meat or cheese and the associate agreed that way it’d be vegan. I 100% validate standing up for your team and I was not trying to put them down, as I mentioned to Skyler, but they made us feel as if we were at fault when we gave clear expectations for a catering order that was $2k for a nonprofit organization.
Skyler ended up refunding us for the salads but it was still an extremely unpleasant experience to call and battle with a manager over the phone who basically told me they didn’t believe what I was saying.
We will not be ordering catering from this location...
