I previously wrote a review giving them 5 stars and I had nothing but good things to say. Unfortunately we just had a bad experience dining with them. Our server Sam was horrible. He didn't introduce himself or say hi when we sat down. He immediately took drink orders by saying "drinks?" Sam gave the bare minimum (and even that might be an overstatement), we gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he was having a bad day BUT NOOO, he was super friendly and introduced himself to everyone else sitting around us. We thought it was odd but shook it off. Then the food came, two chicken parms even though we ordered one chicken parm and one gluten free vegetarian dish. Not a big deal, mistakes happen. The chef came out to clarify the order with us and apologized. Our waiter Sam walked past our table at least 4 times without saying a word to us! He looked at our table and noticed we only had one entree sitting there for at least 15 mins but still didn't say a word! I work in customer service and was shocked at the way he handled it. A manager came up and apologized about the mistake which was nice but still no word from our actual waiter. The second the right order was delivered, Sam walked over and said "did I make a mistake? Is everything good now?" We were blown away by the lack of service and accountability provided by Sam. We had to get his attention anytime we needed something because he refused to come to our table. I can't help but think our race had something to do with this since we were the only minorities in the section and somehow were the only ones being treated this way. We heard Sam interacting with other tables and being attentive. We didn't get drink refills, we weren't checked on, etc. We didn't make a big deal about anything and to be honest the only thing that saved the day was that the food is really really good! We will probably return based on the food but will never sit in Sam's...
Read moreAlfonso's Pizzeria and Restaurant is tucked in a strip mall at a busy intersection off of 206. There is ample parking and the restaurant is separated into a dining in section and a takeout section. The dine-in section has a good atmosphere with tasteful decorations and a very comfortable feel to it. The staff was very polite and happy to do what they could to make my experience positive. The best part about dining in is the bread that gets brought to the table. The bread is delicious and fluffy, pairing well with butter.
Though I haven't tried a standard plain slice yet, the pizza I have sampled is very decent. The personal pie I had was half sausage and half plain and used the same base and crust as the bread that was delivered to the table. The sausage was of the chunky variety and tasted great. In the normal slices I ordered, the pan slice had fresh cheese and a crispy crust and base combo. The color was slightly more orange than I'm used to, but the taste was consistent with most pan-style slices I've ordered. I think perhaps that it was the cheese that gave it this color. Overall the sauce was decent and I would happily order the slice again. The meat lovers slice was very filling and featured ham, sausage, pepperoni, and bacon. The slice is about what you'd expect from any pizzeria and didn't stand out too much. It is a good choice if you're hungry. I will be sure to stop in and try the plain slice one of these days to get a gauge on their...
Read moreI usually never review anyone...i only do it, if its an exceptionally great service or exceptionally POOR experience....which in case latter happened with us with Alfonso. So, this time I have to do speak up. It was my daughter 16th birthday backyard party of few kids n I inquired with Alfonso owner Paul about what I wanted for the event. A day ago I placed the order. We revised the order 3 times and he gave me a price for the entire menu. Inspite that, one of the item a half tray of salad was not delivered, but the dressing was there.. I was of course busy in the party, didn't noticed when the boy delivered it. Soon after, I called him and told him that the item was missing. The staff n Paul argued with me over the phone and was very rude and unprofessional. Iwas told that it was never in the order, inspite my 3-4 times checking the order with him. A half tray of garden salad was not a big deal n definitely not a bank breaker for either of us...but the customer service was EXTREMELY HORRIBLE. The way he handled the situatioth in this was surely not expected n not courteous at all. I finally had to give up n let it go to enjoy the rest of my party. I was not foolish to call him in middle of party for Green salad. If I didn't ordered the salad, then I wonder why did he sent the pint of dressing??????? (to eat with Pizza??????)
ATTITUDE n CUSTOMER SERVICE MATTERS!!
Will never recommend or go to this place...they lost me n many more...
