La Muñeca Ice Cream — Restaurant in Hillsborough

I was really disappointed with my experience at La Muñeca. I bought a small bag of chips with corn and sour cream, which ended up costing $10. Not only was it overpriced, but it upset my stomach so badly that I couldn’t even finish it, and I’m someone who’s very familiar with and loves Mexican snacks and desserts. On top of that, the ice cream I saw was frostbitten, and the place felt eerily empty with no other customers around. Honestly, I don’t understand the high ratings.

I visited La Muneca for the first time today and was super impressed! The inside is bright, cheery, and squeaky clean, and they have a TON of ice cream flavors. Everything everything from your traditional cookies & cream to a large variety of Mexican-inspired flavors. The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous, too. The young woman who took my order patiently answered all of my questions, kindly explaining their vast selection of flavors while scooping generous samples for me to try. Last several times I’ve been in, Constant homeless ppl sit at their outside tables smoking, begging us for money or for us to buy them something as we attempt to go in. Great service but as a survivor of an attack when large men get uncontrollably close to me and my children demanding things from me as I try to go in and the workers inside see them doing it and don’t address the safety of their customers I’ll just have to go to a safer ice cream shop, which is a shame because they have the best ice cream.
