I frequent the island often for both business and pleasure. On January 12th, I was in search of food around 930p. Hinchey's was recommended by another establishment, who had already closed their kitchen. I entered the business and sat at a table near the bar. I never received service, so as soon as a seat was available, I moved to the bar. The bartender was inattentive and seemed to cater to local patrons, without acknowledging me. Once I finally gained his attention, I asked for a menu. The bartender informed me that they were. transitioning from the regular menu to a late night menu. I said that I understood and would like to see the late night menu. I looked it over and he eventually came back to me. At this time, I asked what I could get to go quickly. He was extremely rude and said that there was nothing I could get quickly and that he told me that the menu didn't start until 10:30p. I asked again if there was anything that I could get quickly, he again said "I told you 10:30!" Perhaps I misunderstood, but I do not think it was necessary to treat a customer as I was treated. Ironically, I was on the island as a consultant for a premiere hospitality business. I will definitely pass along my experience at Hinchey's and not recommend them to guests at the resort I was here to visit.
As a business owner, I am hesitant to leave any bad reviews, as I know how detrimental they can be. I feel my poor experience justifies this review. I hope the owners will use this review to train the staff...
Read moreNot very nice to visitors, we are from out of town celebrating my friends birthday and wanted to go out for drinks and food and the bartenders we extremely rude. One male bartender was asking for our orders for food and we told him how we wanted to split the checks and he talked over us and said “we can worry about that later” then brought us our food and my friend asked if she could try some sauce to go with her chicken and he said “either you want the sauce or you don’t I’m not making another trip to the kitchen.” So she went ahead and ordered a random sauce of the bartenders choosing. Then we tried to order drinks and he gave us everything we ordered in shot form and when we said they were supposed to be drinks he said “everything you ordered comes in shots normally if you wanted drinks you should have said that” which our drinks were a pineapple upside down cake and a Tito’s with cranberry juice so I’m not sure how those are normally shots?? Also he didn’t split our check at all he gave it to us on one tab. Super disappointed. The only nice thing about it was the other people who were at the bar and...
Read moreWent here around 5:30p on a Tuesday with our family of 5. Wasn't busy too busy, however the longer we were there it became extremely busy which is great. We had one all-you-can-eat crab legs which is a Tuesday only special for $34.99. Also had a grilled chicken salad, a nachos grande and two kids chicken tenders with chips. No gluten free options at all.
Crab legs came in clusters at about four/five legs per plate. Also came with fries which were a tad cold and soggy, then three hush puppies. Hush puppies had whole corn in them and were seasoned well. Legs where good and flavorful. I'd recommend them at the price for sure. Ended up having 9-10 clusters.
Salad was super basic and nothing at all exciting, fairly bland. The nachos where good and was plentifully enough as a meal and to share. The kids chicken tenders where a joke. Two tenders and a small bag of lays chips. Honestly NOT at all worth the price they were.
If all-you-can-eat crab legs is what you want then this is the place for the price. I heard others there saying the wings...
