Ahmad Rawls is a disgrace to the Jersey Mike’s brand and should not be in any type of management position, nonetheless a GM. I placed an online order and got to the store 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready and I was told by the girl at the checkout register that they were out of steak. No one called me or notified me. I requested a refund and the gentleman running the slicer (later I’d find out this is Ahmad, the GM) barked out that he’d give me a refund in a moment, and proceeded to make 8 sandwiches and make me wait. He also felt it was more important to answer a call on his personal cell phone amidst this “experience.” There was only 2 people in the lobby when I arrived, and he chose to start and compete several other other mobile orders and make me wait another 10 minutes to get my refund and go elsewhere for my family’s dinner after working 12 hours myself. When he got to the register he had an attitude about it because I was simply asking why I was not called as soon as my order printed out if they were out of steak. The two employees that were on shift with him were standing around watching him do everything. Clearly, he was frustrated and unable to delegate. Not frustrated due to a staffing shortage, but clearly aggrevated for some reason, which to me appeared to a lack of management skill. There was a younger lady and a younger gentleman basically just standing behind the counter while Ahmad cut all of the bread and meats. No one was dressing sandwiches but Ahmad. The younger gentleman appeared to be assigned to the grill with NOTHING on the grill. He did not apologize for my wait, my inconvenience, or offer me an alternate item. He simply oozed hate for his job. If customers were such a bother, he wouldn’t even have a job. I am a manager myself and there was no logical reason for him to make the choices he did tonight. Read moreHave been here a couple times now, place is clean and the subs are good. A bit overpriced though. My biggest issue is with ordering online. The past few times I have been there I ordered online so I could just pick it up and meet my wife( who has a very limited lunch break) for lunch. The first time I set pick up time for ASAP. Showed up a couple minutes before the time that was given in my confirmation email and my order wasn't even started yet. I passed it off as they were busy and still fairly new. So the next time I ordered close to 45min in advance of me picking up my order setting a specific pickup time. I show up exactly at my set pickup time. The cashier gives me a deer in the headlights look, then picks an empty bag up and says "we were busy". I found this extremely annoying and inconvenient. Read moreMe and my son thought it was ok. When we got there we were the only customers in the store and I was asked do you know what you want? I was kinda taken back by that for a second. The table we wiped off ourselves and the restroom needed attention. The gentleman who brought us our sandwiches was very nice. There was an employee who appeared to be management doing paperwork who while she didn't acknowledge us, made sure to acknowledge the other customers that came in after us and then she got up to assist with making the food. By this point we were finishing our food and wanted to get cookies but the line was simply too long. About seven people and it wasn't moving so I told my son we would have to get him a cookie somewhere else. The food itself was ok. I've had better from other sub shops...
