My wife and I came here November 19, 2017 around 5ish.
We had to seat ourselves, and waited 15-20 minutes for a waitress to even acknowledge us.
We ordered drinks and bruschetta to start, which took another 15 minutes.
The waitress was polite and apologized for the wait, but by that time we were getting annoyed at being ignored.
We ordered spaghetti with salads, which we usually don't order at Johnnys as their sauce is very runny, but we were craving spaghetti and they were close by, or at least closer than the very good Olive Tree in downtown Hiram. As usual, I asked that no mushrooms or fish products be added to anything, as my wife is allergic to both. The waitress assured me no problem.
The bruschetta was ok, a little crunchy but we were hungry.
The salad came out with the spaghetti at the same time. We asked for house Italian with the salad, which of course came with mushrooms, which my wife pulled out, but a new waitress brought some other salad dressing, guess it was a "greek" salad dressing. (The other waitress had to clock out, apparently).
Anyway, we ate the salad, and a few minutes later my wife's face, neck and chest splotched up and she started feeling like she couldn't breathe well.
I called over the waitress and asked what was in the food, and we figured out that whatever dressing they gave for the salad had anchovies in it.
I asked for the manager and some young lady came over stating she was the "front manager", I believe she said her name was Hannah or Heather, started with an H, I was pretty upset so I don't remember. At any rate I asked her why they didn't tell us there were anchovies in the salad dressing and why we didn't get the dressing we asked for and she simply said "I can comp you for the salad."
I said the salad is free with dinner, and I didn't ask for anything to be comped, I said "Look at my wife's face and neck, she's allergic to fish" and she just said " what do you want me to do?".
Not "should I call an ambulance?", "how can I help your wife to make sure she's ok", not even an apology.
I told her to being our check, and of course after another 15 minutes i got up and went to our 2nd waitress and asked for the check she said "your meal is free", again which I didn't ask for but I wanted to get my wife out and in the car in case we needed to go to the ER.
Luckily my wife is ok, but we'll never return.
I wrote this review after a couple of weeks because I've been busy and I didn't want to write a review when I was mad and upset, but I feel this story needs to be told.
I won't say "don't go here" as this may have been an isolated incident, but our whole experience from being ignored to getting sub-par service and food, to jeapordizing my wife's health, will certainly keep me away from this...
Read moreWe ordered online for pick up today (ordered 3 calzones and a spinach salad) first calzone was cheese, pepperoni and canadian bacon, second was cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms and the third was supposed to be a deluxe calzone and I added jalapenos and minced garlic so this particular calzone ended up being $13 since I added two more toppings. When we got home and started eating we noticed the "deluxe" calzone was just a plain cheese and jalapeno calzone so we paid $13 for a jalapeno and cheese calzone. Not sure what happened there maybe the people preparing the food weren't paying attention or just didn't care. I felt tempted to call the store but after my husband telling me about the uncomfortable experience he had while picking up our food it sounded like it would be pointless and more aggravating. He was pretty upset because he noticed that the server that was bringing out our order accidentally dropped one of the calzone boxes on the floor and the marinara sauce fell out and spilled, the calzone didn't fall out of the box but she just picked everything up and fixed it up again with her bare hands and just put a new marinara sauce in there. my husband saw the whole thing happen and thought maybe the server would acknowledge the accident and mention it to him since she clearly saw him standing there but instead she just came to the counter and started packing everything like nothing had happened, My husband brought it to her attention and she kinda just brushed him off and said they could make him another one but of course we weren't going to wait another 15 - 20 minutes for a new calzone so my husband asked if we could just get a credit and leave it at that. The server then went to talk to a supervisor and when she got back she just started to write in a notebook and asked my husband for his full name without explaining for what so my husband asked what that was for and then she finally told him it was to apply a credit towards his next order. Why would we want a credit towards our next order after getting that type of service and especially after seeing what happened with our food and the server not even acknowledging what happened and feeling like it was no big deal to touch someone's food even after having it dropped on the floor. From reading other reviews this establishment needs to hire more competent workers or train them better in customer service and food handling if they want to keep giving out credits rather than just giving people their money back, for example In this case handling our food incorrectly and totally getting one of the items wrong while charging...
Read moreOnly gave 1 star since ZERO was not an option. Will not be going back to this Johnny's location. My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant night before last (New Year's Eve). We arrived at 7:50 PM and the place was busier with take-out orders than dine-in. When you walk in the door you see a sign that says to seat yourself and do not sit at a table with a STOP SIGN on it due to Covid-19 guidelines. The available tables were dirty from previous customers and had not been bused yet. So, we sat at a dirty table... FOR 20 MINUTES without one server coming back to get the previous customer's ticket from the table or even to clear and clean the table. So, we got up and moved to another dirty table. A server came to clear this table and asked if anyone had helped us. We told her no and that we sat at another table (pointed to the table) for 20 minutes and not one server came to us. Her expression let us know she would pass that info on. About 3 minutes later another server came over and said that they probably just thought it was our dirty table and would clean it when we left. Turned out it was HER table. She didn't notice we were not even the previous customers. She took our orders after we had been there for 25 minutes, bringing the drinks about 5 minutes later. (Notice we are keeping track of the time.) 15 minutes later, the waitress came over and said she had just checked on our order and it would only be another "minute and a half" and it would be ready. We are now up to the mark of having been there for 40 minutes. During the next 10 minutes we sat at our table watching the waitresses (3 of them) standing around at the bar laughing and talking with the guy behind the bar. After 10 minutes I decided I had had enough of the TERRIBLE SERVICE here and it was time to go. I went over to the group of waitresses standing at the bar, our's saw me coming. She immediately starting saying our order will be ready in just a minute. I cut her off and said... and I quote... "We have been here for 50 minutes. The tea is free. We are out of here." I didn't even need to stand there to see if she was going to apologize. The whole situation was uncalled for and the fault of a non-observant, unconcerned wait staff. VERY POOR SERVICE. NO PLANS TO EVER RETURN TO THIS LOCATION. We will not be referring anyone to this Johnny's. We have been to numerous other locations (including Marietta, Powder Springs, Smyrna and Jasper) and no complaints with those. We left here and went to iHOP. Had excellent service, excellent timing and the price was cheaper for the...
