So, picture this: my friend gets stuck in town, and I decide to play the hero by grabbing her from the airport and whisking her away to San Lucas Mexican Restaurant. Why? Because their margaritas are legendary, and let's face it, we both needed one. Or two. Or, you know, Texas-sized. We walk in, eager for our margarita fix, and get seated at a table. Not our first choice—we're booth people. The booth next to us was still glistening from a recent scrub-down but my friend, ever the rebel, plopped right down into the wet abyss. No biggie, though. We dove into the menu like it was the last supper, focusing on those margaritas. My friend ordered a strawberry margarita on the rocks, Texas size (of course). I went for the passionfruit margarita, expecting a tropical paradise in a glass. What I got instead was a berry surprise. Being highly allergic to strawberries, I raised an eyebrow (and a potential medical emergency) when I saw those suspicious berry bits. The waiter assured me it was just a "pink-colored passionfruit drink." Yeah, right. Turns out, the bartender had thrown in some blackberries. Pro tip: bartenders, please consult a fruit identification chart. After some back-and-forth, I switched to a frozen Texas mango margarita. Crisis averted. The mango margarita was good. I'll leave it at that. Food-wise, we started with queso calamari. Solid choice. I got the quesabirrias, and my friend opted for the fish tacos. She described her tacos as "good but basic," which is code for "meh." My quesadillas were tasty, with or without the sauce, but my quesabirrias had a spicy kick that wasn't advertised. Surprise spice levels, anyone? My friend’s sides of rice and beans were so bland they practically apologized for existing. Service? Our waiter spent more time socializing with other tables than with us. Apparently, we're not as charming as the other patrons. At least we got our margaritas, and that’s what we came for. The drinks delivered; the rest, not so much. Will I be back? Definitely, but only for the margaritas. And next time, I'll bring my own allergy test kit and a fan to dry off those booths. Cheers!

We really wanted to like this restaurant but the food and service are subpar. The building has been redone and the decor is really cute. The guacamole and salsa were good but that's the best thing about this place. We ordered and it took over 40 minutes to get our food. My son ordered a quesadilla off the kids menu and it did not come out with the rest of our food. Had to ask two times for it. When it finally arrived when the rest of us were done eating, it was a taco and tasted burned (see picture). The waitress seemed untrained (not her fault). Ordered a soft taco and it came as a hard taco. Asked for Pico and didn't get any. Was charged for a sprite that came with the kids menu and had to ask this to get fixed. There were more issues than this though. The food was just not good. My husband and I are not complainers and we get the short staffed patience needed for our country right now and we were just that. But missing food , extra charges, not having well tasting food, untrained staff, and long wait times = recipe for unsuccess. I hope this this business can get it together soon but for now, we will stay with our usual at La Bamba.

Went here last night and from the moment we walked in we were greeted with happiness. The decorations are really nice and open. The wooden wall is so pretty and open shelving is super cute. So, to the main things, the food was top notch I ordered the San Lucas quesidilla, my daughter ordered the Mahi tacos and my husband ordered chicken enchiladas. The quesidilla was stuffed full of steak which was cooked to perfection the flavor was amazing it came with rice and fixings for the quesidilla. The Mahi tacos were also stuffed with fish and coleslaw with this homemade tarter sauce that was AMAZING šŸ‘ and it came with rice and beans. The enchiladas come as a set of 3 and they were soft and full of meat. The cheese sauce they put on the enchiladas was creamy and full of flavor as well.

Upon approaching the front door, there were several carpenter bees present that made it difficult for me to enter. When I did make it inside, I advised the host about them swarming around & making it difficult for guests to enter. It was as if I was talking to myself. He expressed zero concern. Waitress arrived shortly after my being seated. Note: I arrived just before the end of lunch menu time but by the time waitress came back to take my order she told me it was too late to order from lunch menu that ended 3 minutes prior. šŸ™„ I ordered an appetizer of calamari. It was the worst I’ve ever had. There was zero flavor or seasoning used and it seemed as if prepared with zero concern. It was as if they were dumped directly from the freezer bag straight into the deep fryer. Most pieces were clumped together and texture indicated they weren’t completely cooked. Some pieces were edible but most were left uneaten. After the outcome of the appetizer, I dared not order an entree. Once I decided enough was enough of a not so good thing, I looked around for my curly, red headed waitress with braces who was now missing in action. I soon realized she was sitting and chatting with the host. Since he was facing my direction, I tried to get his attention because she was seated to where she could not see me at all. Mind you, I’m sitting at the booth closest to the front door and guest waiting area. I guess my calling out for him 4-5 times and loud enough to turn the heads of multiple guests just wasn’t loud enough for him. Perhaps the words of my waitress were way more important. I had to actually get out of my seat and approach the two of them in order to be acknowledged. The waitress comes over without making any apology for her absence or difficulty getting her attention or the host’s attention. I promptly asked for my check and had already made the decision that I would not be returning to this restaurant. There is honestly a lot to be desired. I may have been able to overlook the poor customer service had the food been good enough. But when food and service are subpar, you are at risk of less than desirable reviews. I hope management takes my experience into consideration and implements some changes for their future customers. Two stars were given for cleanliness and decor. Much room for...

We decided to try this new place in leu of our regular Mexican place. Well, the decor was very confused, and generally unpleasant to look at and poorly done. The staff seemed friendly, when we were seated we noticed most of the booth seats were not attached to the frame and we had to fix our booth before we could sit down. The menus were bright and full of options from seafood to Italian food 😳. I ordered a peach frozen margarita Texas style because the waitress stated Texas style was made fresh the drink came only partically frozen and watery and i couldnt taste any peach because the liquor was so strong it was undrinkable. The chips and salsa were fine. Mediocre. I ordered their San Lucas Dip which is a queso blanco dip with shrimp chicken and steak. The dip was disgusting. Nothing like Queso you get at any Mexican joint across the country. The shrimp chicken and steak was actually cooked well but barely tolerable due to the dip. My date ordered the steak fajitas and the only thing he found appetizing was the meat. Everything else was not good. When i asked them to remake or improve my frozen peach margarita that wasnt peach or frozen i was told they could add more peach and NEXT time to order one that isnt Texas style. I explained the girl who took my order explained what a texas was and she said nothing about it being stronger He just laughed and said well she doesnt know about it.. and then didnt get me another fresh drink. We left paying about $50 for a very disappointing meal and was still hungry ... my yearning for queso and chips and a flavored margarita not fulfilled at all. We will NOT be returning. But the staff was nice the entire time. Not to mention they were literally mopping the floors that we had to walk on to get out 30 minutes before they even closed down

Dont waste your time ...
