We had come to visit my brother and sister-in-law and decided to go on a whim, as my husband had never been to a place like this. It was us, our adult daughter, his brother, nephew, and sister-in-law. At 530p, on a Saturday, there was about a 25 minute wait. Sitting in this little strip in front of Kirklands, and next to a Mexican restaurant, it looks like a normal "strip mall" storefront, but you step inside l, and it changes! You have places to sit at the sushi bar, more personal dining, or sit as a group and watch the magic happen!!! You are sat with 3 menus. Drinks, Sushi (any style you can think of), and the main courses. As you decide on your main meal, they are getting your drinks and sushi orders together. I decided on a sashimi Tuna, and it was perfection! Served on spagetti shaved carrots, you're given the pickled cabbage and greenery as well. Beautiful presentation! The others chose scallops, chicken, steak, and shrimp With each meal, you're served an amazing clear, mushroom broth soup and salad! Both are amazing! Now comes the main meal preparation. Our chef (I wish I had gotten his name), was a young guy with a personality that was amazing. From cooking with the special "ice cream" (a seasoned butter), to topping with "soda" ( red bottle sauce to top everything as it cooks), and spritzing with "sprite" (lemon) to give the seafood that perfect flavor... LOVE IT. He made it so much fun. Now how it all tasted! OMG the scallops.... PERFECTION!!! The steak cooked perfectly and not cheap, the shrimp.. yes the shrimp. Even the chicken was perfect! There were several children at other cooking stations, and they were kept involved through the process. Seeing their eyes light up as the flames blazed up, or whole eggs flipped in the air... they are a good fit for all ages! The whole process is about an hour and a half. This isn't a "fast food style" eating. This is that eating you sit, have amazing conversations, and enjoy! Now they DO OFFER A CARRYOUT SERVICE!!! They have a window for pickup so you don't have to come inside. They got you covered!!! The average meal was about $22, and to get all 3 meats was just about $35, but the portions... it's a lot! We all took home a Togo box with plenty left! And I promise, it wasn't because it tasted bad.

It was my first time there in two years And the food was still good. I always sit at the sushi bar and when doing so I’m always given a complementary appetizer, which today was crab tempura salad. The food was good and didn’t take too much time to come out. I’m giving it a four star because on first arriving we were seated and left unattended for almost 10 minutes before we were even given water. I also didn’t like when I asked the waitress if I could have my sushi with the rice on the outside of the nori instead of the inside she told me it would be an up charge. This is something I’ve never heard of at any restaurant, so I immediately bypassed her and went straight to the sushi guy and he told me that that was not correct, that they have never done that before. So I’m not sure if she just made that up off the top of her head for whatever reason or was attempting to get extra money from me. It wasn’t a really busy day and there were plenty of waitresses to meet the need of the customers but they weren’t really attentive either. Other than that I would still visit again but it wouldn’t be my first choice

Never been more disappointed. We have been coming here for years. We've dealt with the downsizing of the menu during Covid and many other changes. But tonight is the last straw. I ordered Shrimp Tempura roll. What I got was a frozen panko crusted shrimp inside a roll. I've ordered the tempura appetizer, meal, and roll so often I couldn't tell you how many times. But tonight the shrimp was panko crusted. Panko is a bread crumb, tempura is a batter. The manager insisted it has always been like this and that what I got was tempura. This is sad. She is Japanese. So she either doesn't know what tempura or panko are, or she is lying to me. Your prices are high. Your beer prices are extremely expensive. I get it. You make money off alcohol. But now, you are buying frozen boxes of panko crusted shrimp and trying to pass them off as freshly made tempura. Done, not another dime. I have pictures if you want to see them. BTW, it was also cooked in old, under temperature oil because it was too dark and very greasy.

The food was delicious and the service was great but the MANAGER on duty was horrible!!

We came in to eat the Saturday evening before Easter. My daughter in law called on the Thursday before to make reservations and was told they did not take reservations but I looked on your website and it clearly stated you did take reservations. I called on Friday and was told they were not taking reservations, when I questioned this I was told they were not taking reservations "that" weekend, I was fine with that and understood being a holiday weekend.

We arrived Saturday evening a little before 6pm and was told the wait time was an hour. After we had waited for over an hour, my son went in to ask how much longer, he was told at least 15-20 more minutes. He noticed at that time there were two empty tables in the back.

Right after he came back out, a very large party of young adults came in and was seated immediately, we never saw them waiting the whole time we were waiting.

After waiting an additional 25 minutes my daughter in law went in and asked again "how much longer?" she was told we were "next". She then asked about the large party that had just come in and was seated, she was told "they had a reservation" that they called on Thursday.

This is when I became very upset, as well as all the other people around us that had been waiting. They said they had tried to get reservations also to be told you were not taking reservations! So HOW was this large party was able to make a reservation!!!

After seeing several parties being seated after being told we were "next", I went in to speak with the Manager, (he very young and clearly had very limited management skills) I noticed while talking to him there were several tables were finished with their meals sitting around on their phones, talking or watching another Chef at another table cook. When I asked him about that he said they were just hanging out...he clearly doesn't have the concept of how to politely move customers along so you can turn the tables over!

I told him we had been waiting TWO HOURS and after being put off several times to be told we were next then after watching several other parties being seated before us, he just kept making excuses.

I explained we were initially told it was an hour wait, then another 15-20 minutes. When I brought up to him about the large party that was seated before us he said again "they had a reservation"! He clearly lied to my face and wasn't a bit remorseful for it!!

I never told him that I and my daughter in law had tried to get reservations but by this time it would have useless to bring it up, he clearly didn't care and wanted me out of his way! He just kept saying "he was sorry I felt this way!" The whole conversation I never raised my voice nor spoke to him rudely but I did tell him he needed more training as a manager.

I explained to him that when you tell people the truth like: "the wait is at least an hour but we have several large parties ahead of you so it might take a bit longer" that patrons are more patient with the wait time instead of being lied to over and over again!

He knew the wait time was out of control but did nothing about it!

I've been in management and customer relations for over 40 years and I can say this manager is NOT ready to be in charge of a busy restaurant.

As I said the food and service were great as usual but we all had a huge issue with the management!

What's worse is there were three other parties that had been waiting as long as we had if not longer!! One couples name had been removed from the list and instead of putting them ahead of others that came after them, they put them on the bottom of the list!!

When we were called to be seated we would not take the table unless all of them were being seated also and their meal should have been reduced or comped! The Manager didn't even approach this couple much apologized to them!

I hope you will look CLOSLEY at this "manager" and get him some additional training before letting him manage, "especially" on a...

I regular this location a lot and out of the 100000 times visiting I am extremely disappointed with my visit tonight. I arrived and was sat with my party of 5 @ 8:00. Waiter came out pretty fast asked what we needed as far as drinks. Drinks were brung over and we waited for soup and salads. Another party was sat at our table and they have about 9 people with them. I am always happy to sit with another party during hibachi but based on the party size you would think they would sit them at there own table because this would bring our table to 14 guests. Waiter brought soup and salad and assisted the party that sat with us. Upon ordering the opposite party split 4 plates of hibachi between 9 people which affected the amount of food we received as we were supposed to receive extra rice because two people in our party agreed to no vegetables. This was offered to us by the waiter. The chef came out around 8:45 and seemed irritated as well because the party size was extremely large and the orders didn’t make sense that was written because of the sharing of the plates. My sister and daughter never received double rice because there was not enough food on his cart and to save time we agree to just move forward. I requested to order drinks once our waiter got the dirty plates but he never returned and pretty much just popped in once i retreated to get a manager. The sharing of plates , party size , waiter all attributed to time wasted and food not ate at the table because we spent over a hour waiting for all of our stuff to get cooked.

Manager was of no assistance and tried to tell me about restaurant process which I let him know I am a paying customer and the process doesn’t matter when I am unhappy that the “process” failed. Especially when i frequent often and tip the chefs and waiters all the time because of great service.

You can also see the friction with the waiter and chef because the waiter wasn’t doing his part to make sure table was good & ready to be served. Chef annoyed because he is having to literally portion control and swing food behind him to the opposite party.

The manager agreed to comp $20-$25 which is a slap in the face for a $150 tab. We waited so long for our stuff to get cooked we ended up packing up and taking it home @ around 9:35.

To make it even worse we came to celebrate my 9year olds birthday and didn’t get to have a birthday dessert because of...

I have been to this restaurant a number of times and have always loved my experience, food, and customer service. So tonight I decided to take my boyfriend here to try it for the first time. HUGE MISTAKE!  Our experience tonight was ABSOLUTELY horrible and quite actually the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Tonight Taki closed at 9:30pm. We walked into the restaurant at 9:10pm. When greeted by the manager Jean, she directed us to the table before asking if we wanted to sit at a table, the bar, or hibachi grill. We preferred to sit in the hibachi section as I never got to experience it here. Jean told us that it's closed  and proceeded to take us back to the original section. Ravyn greeted us and she started off pretty polite. As we reviewed the menu, I wanted sushi and hibachi for my meal.  My boyfriend, whom i brought here for the first time has never tried sushi before, but i raved about how great the sushi is here and convinced him to try it. Ravyn tells us oh sorry they are packing up the sushi bar now...at 9:15. (15 minutes BEFORE the restaurant closed). So we ordered what was available. Ravyn already had togo boxes sitting at the table and asked us to PAY BEFORE we even got our food. She told us that her manager has asked her to get the bill BEFORE the meal because they were ready to shut down the system. When the food finally made it to our table, Ravyn spilled some juice from the hibachi meal on my boyfriend's pants. By this time ,we were both HIGHLY aggravated at the audacity of the treatment of paying customers. It's actually a thing for us to tip well ESPECIALLY when we walk in late, but that was off the table immediately. I honestly want my money back for the despicable customer service. I spoke to Jean at the end to get more information on the owners of the restaurant to see if they would have appreciated them rushing the customers in this manner. Jean said that Tony is only in the restaurant like once a month and tried to apologize. But by that point, it was far too late.  We took a couple of bits of our food, but between the smell of sanitizer solution and the look on the servers faces, we got the hint and packed our plates up! I have served in a restaurant, I've managed in a restaurant and I can't ever recall treating the last table this way no matter how eager I was ready to...
