Taqueria Cambray — Restaurant in Hiram

After reading so many great reviews, I just had to try this place. I wish I hadn't!! I ordered the Barbacoa burrito with no onion and peppers and with "liquid" cheese (their words). My burrito had very little taste and was very dry, with no "liquid" cheese, but it had what looked like mozzarella cheese on it, which tasted odd. They gave me tortilla chips, but no salsa. What am I supposed to do with plain chips. I had the refried beans, and they were bland, but I will say I liked the taste of their rice. My husband ordered the 3 taco plate that was supposed to be corn shells, and he got soft shell tacos, which he doesn't care for at all. His tacos were the same, no flavor bland and dry with what looked like mozzarella cheese, and again, no salsa. The place seemed dirty inside, the walls needed to be spackled and painted, and to be honest, the whole place smelled of onions. I really wanted to like this place because I have had authentic Mexican and well authentic Mexican food have spices and flavors, and this just missed the mark all together. Also, they seemed overpriced for what you get, I mean, $13.00 for a burrito and a few chips with no salsa is a bit much. It was my first time picking up food for me and my wife a week ago and we have already been back 3 times! The food, honestly is the BEST Mexican food I have EVER HAD at a resturant. I have had alot of authentic home-cooked Mexican meals and their food is just as good or better then by family and friends and 10 times better then any food I've had at a Mexican restaurant. My wife is part Mexican and this place gets her seal of approval! We tried their tamales for the first time yesterday (it's their Wednesday special) and they were absolutely delicious! Homemade authentic and easily the just as good or better then tamales I've had in the past. Can't say enough good things about the food, cooks, and the young ladies that take care of my orders. I was very curious about this little place when I would pass by it for the past few months since it opened. I finally got the chance to try it out tonight for dinner and... IT REALLY HIT HOME!

I've been in search of real authentic mexican food since I moved near Hiram but I've been very hesitant to try anything since most of the food around here is TexMex style. Anyone looking for REAL mexican food, this is the place to go!

I had their birria taco plate and these are the best one's I've tried in GA so far. These tacos were packed with flavor and weren't as oily as others that I've tried. The consummé had to be the best part, it had so many delicious spices, it doesn't disappoint even if you were to eat it alone.
