My name is Tina too, woohoo! But yeah after seeing Juan’s comment I just had to step up for my name sister- I‘ve worked front end of a french patisserie in Philly for nearly a year now (Aux Petits Delices, it won Best of Philly last year) so I know not only what an authentic macaron should be like, not “This isn’t a ‘New York’ macaroon” (you spelled macaron wrong btw) but also what it’s like for small businesses and pastry chefs- with that said, I’ve seen firsthand the process behind making these and how ridiculously tedious and long it takes to make each batch: 4 hours minimum for a batch of 75-100 pieces and at least a team of 3 from start to finish depending on kitchen size. Sometimes I’ll get called back to assist with piecing them together so sometimes it can require 4 or more people during a time crunch. During that process, ANY single minor flaw will mess up the entire batch and you’ll have to start all over again...I’ve seen a coworker in tears being frustrated in messing up the slightest bit during this process and tossing out 100 macarons into the trash because they weren’t absolutely perfect, and dude, that’s just for macarons. There are then the cakes, cookies, cupcakes and other desserts and custom orders that make up that 50-60 hour work week. So first of all, cut a small business some slack. To you it’s “two stars” but every other review says otherwise. I still recall Thanksgiving dinner when we all fought over the last piece of the pecan pie she made for us, it was easily the best pecan pie I’ve ever had. My fam in Jersey stops by nearly every week for the cookies and cupcakes. Second and lastly of all...I’ve had Baking Mamas macarons. Only two flavors so far since I only go up to Hoboken on occasion, but not only was it excellent AND authentic in looks, but also the flavor and consistency!! But even if you possibly got a stale macaron one time, consider that the owner is nice enough to make it up to you, the previous owner of our bakery was known for yelling at customers to gtfo and never come back. ...Now I need to stop by nyc sometime and see what a “New York” macaron is like.
Thank you Baking Mama for your hard work and amazing desserts and equally amazing attitude!! Looking forward to trying new selections next...
Read moreLove love love this place! I rarely write reviews but I had to since I really cannot say enough how much I love Baking Mama... Being here twice, 200% satisfied every visit! Their cookies and cupcakes are great but macarons simply cannot be beat other places I’ve visited! Perfect balance of crunchy shells and chewy, marshmallowy inside❤️ My personal favorite is the matcha & the passion fruit is the close second (but I really cannot chooseee...) Also, the owners here are super nice and welcoming, you’ll be surprised by the positive vibes they are emitting. Definitely will visit again:)

Read moreThis place is amazing! First off, the owners... I can not say enough about them as I would just go on a rant with every positive word possible. They are such kind sweet humans and fantastic to have a quick chat with! You aren’t just another customer to them buying something, they really make every purchase a caring experience. Now to discuss the delicious treat! The cupcakes are wonderful! Yes, I know people do not like the word moist.. but that is exactly what they are! They are moist and just melt with each bite. The cookies... my favorite... if I could eat these for every meal I would!
Moral of the story is that this place is a sweet...
