Mario’s Pizza in Hoboken is a beloved local spot that has been serving up delicious, classic New York-style pizza for years. Situated in a convenient location, this pizzeria is a favorite among residents and visitors alike, known for its inviting atmosphere and consistently good food.
The star of the show at Mario’s is undoubtedly the pizza. The crust is perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of chewiness. The sauce is flavorful and tangy, and the cheese is generously applied and melts beautifully. Whether you opt for a plain cheese slice or one of their specialty pies, such as the Margherita or the Meat Lover’s, you won’t be disappointed. Their white pizza, with its rich blend of cheeses and garlic, is also a standout and highly recommended.
In addition to pizza, Mario’s offers a variety of other Italian staples. The garlic knots are a popular choice, buttery and seasoned to perfection. Their pasta dishes, like the classic spaghetti and meatballs or the baked ziti, are hearty and satisfying. For a lighter option, the salads are fresh and well-prepared, making for a great accompaniment to any meal.
Service at Mario’s Pizza is friendly and efficient. The staff are welcoming and quick to take orders, and the wait times are generally short, even when the place is busy. The casual, laid-back vibe makes it a great spot for a quick lunch, a relaxed dinner, or a late-night snack.
Mario’s also offers delivery and takeout options, which are convenient for those nights when you want to enjoy a great pizza from the comfort of your home. The delivery is prompt, and the food always arrives hot and fresh.

You play some cards, eat your food, and drink your beer, having a good time in what you think is a good hangout spot. That is, until the owner, Mario, comes up to you and asks you WHY you had the audacity to play cards in his restaurant: Mario: "What are you guys doing, playing cards? You order any food?" Me: "Yep, just playing some games, you can join us if you want" Mario: "Listen, it'd be ok if you were looking at nudie mags (yes, he actually said this) and ordering more beers. Stop the cards, order something, or leave" So we stopped. And we left. Would have been a 5/5 without this guy ruining...

The staff treats everyone like family. I actually forgot some personal items there and the guys behind the counter were so kind to find and hold on to them for me until I could come back (thank you!).
We tried the Stromboli and several kinds of pizza. I really liked the plain cheese! Wish I lived in Hoboken so I could make this my go-to...
