Expensive but good, my onion soup could have been warmer for my tastes.
04/16/2023 visit, tables were dirty, ordered online and the order was at least 10-minutes later than forecasted by the app, sandwich arrived without the specified cheese. Panera used to be top of the line for fast casual, but my last 2 visits there have been disappointing at best. I'll agree with another reviewer that the soups are never served hot enough. They should preheat the china bowls that they serve it in.
There just seems to be a general malaise to all national chains in this area. I'm sure part has to do with hiring, retention, and training, i.e. one has to retain an employee to train them properly. And it's my opinion that most chains do not pay enough to retain great employees, leading to mediocre dining experiences.
Note that the manager did follow up via email and offered to comp me a meal, but I probably won't go back as several other things that have transpired with the chain that I don't care for, like reducing the menu drastically, eliminating the baker positions, etc. There is a general belief that they want to make the company as profitable as possible so that they can get a good price when they sell the company. They simply don't care about their customer base anymore. I am reducing my rating by 1-star.
Update: Since my last review, I have not been back and will probably never eat there again. Portion sizes are small, there's been many menu and corporate-mandated changes, it's just a former shadow of what they used to be, and it is no longer a good value. Panera, this is how you lose customers.
Drove by there recently at dinner-time and their parking lot was nearly empty. It looks like reality has caught up with their...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this morning to order breakfast while on the road. We went inside to order and planned on eating outside. I ordered a plain bagel with regular cream cheese, and he ordered a bacon, egg, and tomato wrap. When my husband gathered his hot order, the person handed him the bag and said, “We ran out of wraps, so I put it on a ciabatta. Is that ok?” Since he was already holding the bag of food my husband said it was fine. Then, after we went outside to eat, I opened my bag to find honey walnut cream cheese. Since that wasn’t what I ordered, I went back inside to ask the cashier for the correct kind, to which she responded, “We are out of plain cream cheese so I gave you what we had.” Keep in mind that this Panera location was a ghost town like most restaurants during COVID, so it’s not like they had a mad rush and were unprepared to keep up with the demand. Panera, you can do better than this. If you have supply chain issues, that’s fine, but tell your employees to proactively notify the customer so they can choose to pay for and receive something else and not receive what your employees think the...
Read moreThis location 3/31/18 was out out avocados, Romain lettuce, soba noodles, mixed greens. I had to completely change what I had planned to eat. The reason I came into Panera today was for a salad and 1/2 a sandwich. We were told that they were out of the above mentioned Foods was due to Easter being Sun. And they are closed Sun due to Easter. The Frontega sandwich I was going to try to eat was very sloppy and looked thrown together. The bottom bun was torn in half it wasn’t even stable enough to hold the chicken. I ended up picking the chicken off it and eating the chicken on the top part of the bread. The restaurant wasn’t busy and we had to hunt for a clean table and seats to sit and eat what we settled on due to the fact they were out of a lot. The dining room was dirty ,crumbs on the seats and tables were dirty. Maybe they were short staffed? I am not sure. This is our second visit to this location in a year. This location seems to have the same issues as our past visit. We...
