Got seated before 2 other tables. They had their orders 5-10 minutes before my table. My order wasn’t done correctly, missing one thing on my sons order, appetizers came AFTER the meal too. Definitely NOT worth going to the Holland, MI ihop. They were not even busy, we were 1 of only 4 tables with people in the entire restaurant
Decided to try it again.... crappy service!!! 1st table they were seating us at was fine but didn’t work for them because it didn’t have syrup and I guess they couldn’t just move one over to that table... so instead they seated the 4 of us at a table with 3 chairs so I had to grab my own chair from another table. Then it’s only 5:00 and they are out of diet pop???? Really??? This place has done nothing except go downhill! Don’t waste your time or money here!
There were only 2 tables seated today and we had to wait for a table????????????? Then we sat at the table finally and waited at least 20 minutes before our order was taken. They need to get rid of the entire staff and start over!!!!!!!!!!
Update: They started over with their staff…. Guess what…. Still the SAME PROBLEM! People seated after us got their food and finished eating before we even had our order taken! I ordered eggs on a taco shell… no bacon… yet they kept adding bacon!!! Sooooooo fricken tired of this place yet for some reason my son likes their shitty food and service.
Update: 3/8/25 After a call from the new manager, I was willing to give another shot… I gave my name and phone number for the credit I was supposed to get and the waitress couldn’t find anything so she did give a discount that turned out to be under half what I was told by the manager I would get but that’s how it goes… Food was good this time, at least it was mostly made correctly. My dad ordered a hamburger that they added avocado to even though it wasn’t asked for , or wanted as he doesn’t like avocado, or listed on the menu as being in it. My 3 children talked me into IHOP last night... when we walked in the door, the man, who we didn't know was our server at the time, walked in behind us, after a smoke. We were directed to our dirty table by the hostess, they halfway wipped the table down, with the filtyist dirty rag and in the store... That's when we wait 10 mins for the servers to verbally debate back and forth about which person was to serve our table, still no drinks were ordered, no menus placed down ...10 mins!!.... The gentleman who came in from his smoke, ten mins ago... Came to our table with the excuse that he JUST returned from his smoke break... (Um, no you didn't)... So we FINALLY ordered drinks, my kids ordered their fusion drinks, mixed with lemonade, Sprite and mango flavoring.... He brought back Sprite and lemonade mix... For $3!!! Each!! I have 3 kids! That's $9 alone in expensive drinks... Not made right!! Our food came an hour after it was placed. I knew because on our ticket is shows the time the food went in to the computer.... We waited an hour for the food to he served.. good thing for tablets to keep us entertained... When we got our food, nothing was right or to temp... Dangerously cold food served to customers should NEVER BE ALLOWED, we weren't even offered ketchup, no one would come check on us to ask for the ketchup... During our time enjoying our cold food poisoning, NOT once did that smoking server ever come check on us... A different server had to get us silverware, and drink refills and straws... It was when we got our refills from a DIFFERENT server did it reveal that my kids $3 drinks weren't made right the first time, I had to demand the server to come give us our check from across the room, because he ignored us so bad. I wasn't demanding or rude, I was forgiving and understanding, when I should have walked out from the start... I will NEVER go...
Read moreMan has this place gone downhill. I worked at this IHOP for nearly 4 years ( left in 2016) and never would the experience we had today have been tolerated before. We went in just before 9:30 (Wednesday morning) it was pretty slow maybe 4 tables total when we arrived. We were sat within 10 minutes. It took over 20 minutes before a server came by and asked if anyone has gotten our drinks. We placed our drink and food order with her. 40 minutes after that our food came out. We had no silverware, missing food and still had not gotten our drinks. Before our food came I got up and asked for our drinks (about 30 minutes after ordering) and again 10 minutes after our food arrived at which time our server came to the table and asked our drink orders again (4 waters with lemon one was for a kid and an apple juice). Halfway through eating we got our drinks, the missing food items and after having to flag down our server again the check. They had more tables come in while we are but the servers had MAX 4 tables each of 1-3 people all at different stages of their meal. Additionally who I assumed to be the manager was helping run food, seemingly aware of the situation but made no effort of discussing it. This is my daughter’s favorite restaurant and I used to enjoy it quite a bit but after today I don’t think I’ll ever return to this location.
