This park is a destination.It is so pleasant my family informed me it will be a stop on our next vacation. Meticulous landscaping and a one of a kind vertical garden that is the Wizard of Oz book. Park is full of black squirrels hoarding acorns.They are accustomed to human presence so they are not shy about continuing their activities while being observed. The library has a used book sale that captured my daughter's and they both came home with a half dozen books for their personal library. Whatever it takes to get them to read. Read moreVisited on August 1st around 1 p.m., and these statues were a delightful surprise. They’re definitely not your typical Wizard of Oz characters—don’t expect exact movie replicas—but that’s part of the charm. The statues are whimsical, a little odd, and super fun to photograph.
The display is easy to find, located right across from Centennial Park and out in the open, so you can’t miss it. We especially loved the tree with the flying monkey—it caught us off guard in the best way.
