Eon Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Homestead

My experience here was not good. I would put 0 stars if I could. My husband, friends and I booked a section and my husband uses a wheelchair and is not able to walk at all. The staff informed us that we weren’t able to swap out for a section that was accessible for him. The staff and owner told us they booked the sections that were accessible for other parties and told us that they have a section available upstairs where my husband was not able to walk up. The only other way to access the section we paid for would have been the option of walking through the alley around the building (and it was raining) to go around a back entrance that still wasn’t fully accessible for him. The staff offered to carry him physically up and down the stairs when he needed to use the bathroom and to leave. We decided to stay because of all the effort it took to get the section with our friends but this was a violation of his ADA rights and they refused to accommodate a section that was accessible! God forbid if a fire or emergency broke out, because he would then not be able to leave safely at all. Then, after we get to our section, there was only 4 seats for a party of six and we all weren’t able to sit down. After being there for a few hours, the staff and a friend of mine got into an argument about our 6th person who came late and told her that she had to leave because she came with one extra person in our section and kicked them out. The staff then threw in my friends face that they have been nice to my husband by carrying him up and down the stairs so that he can use the bathroom on the first floor. My point is if they followed the law and had us on the first floor in the first place, then he would have never been able to complain. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the interior is clean and safe, the music is great, and the food and drinks are AMAZING! I've celebrated many special moments there, my engagement, birthdays, and they've even accommodated private events for my family. The outdoor patio roofing they've recently added is a game changer, it's giving out of town vibes. I can't say enough about Mike and the EON team.
