Right by the Monongahela River, these smokestacks were preserved from the old Andrew Carnegie Steel Works which used to be the biggest steel mill in the nation. It is a very successful repurpose effort which allowed Pittsburgh to keep its history during redevelopment efforts which all too often raze the past. I don't know who the urban planners where who did all this wonderful work with the banks of the Monongahela and the Allegheny rivers but they did incredible work.
