Read moreWell, this hype was even crazier than Popeyes… I waited in line for an HOUR AND 17 MINUTES! I was expecting something around 30, max 45 min, but the drive thru took 1 hour and 17 min. So the hype was wild, and this was on day 2 of opening.
So I got 3 “The Box Combos” with 1 extra piece of toast, 1 coleslaw swapped for toast, and 2 extra cane sauces and the total was exactly $39.73.
The Box Combo
So I ate one straight out the drive thru, so the moment I got it, I stopped in the parking lot of the bank right in front and I had to try it fresh out the kitchen. I knew it would be fresh because there was around 20 people just working nonstop in the kitchen, it was crazy.
Tenders Anyways, the chicken was really good, hot, juicy, fresh, tender. It was just a good piece of chicken I was satisfied. Could’ve been crispier though for sure, I guess next time I have to specify that, idk, first time eating Canes, idk the rules and code.
Fries The fries were ok, nothing special, wouldn’t really care if they came with the combo would arguably just prefer more toast, but the fries were fine.
Toast The toast wasn’t really as good as I was expecting but it was ok, better than the fries, but not necessarily good. I was expecting the toast to be delicious and amazing like on par with the chicken almost, and it wasn’t at all, but maybe that’s my fault and my expectations were irrationally high.
Canes sauce The famous canes sauce, the MOST HYPED UP sauce of all, I think even more than Chic fil a sauce. This Canes sauce is like some mythical, exclusive, crazy sauce, and in the end… it was eh. Don’t get me wrong it was good, but really all it tasted like was Ketchup and Mayo with a little pepper, and a lil tang. I was disappointed with it in the end, was expecting to be mind blown because of the hype.
Coleslaw I don’t really like Coleslaw, but my mom does, so she ate it, and she liked it. She said it was good, so it’s good.
In the end the price is a little much, but everything has gone up so much that I have to be ok with it and expect to be disappointed by every price everywhere. I will be going again, but I can definitely wait, it wasn’t good enough to make me want to go and wait another line. So, for what it is, 8.5/10 when fresh, and 7ish/10 when you get back...
Read moreFirst time visiting. First thing I can say is that, this company needs to thank the almighty and everything else on earth for their marketing team. Because WOW the food was an utter disappointment! Below are my pros and cons. Pros: They got that chicken tender cooking time down to a science. The chicken tasted fresh and was fried perfectly. Cons: The chicken has no seasoning, it can’t stand alone (unless you’re a 4yo). My coleslaw smelled rancid and tasted like it was made 2 weeks ago - it was definitely spoiled(I love coleslaw! I was pressed). The sauce… THE SAUCE! Oh this overhyped sauce. I heard so many good things about the sauce. People buying cups of this stuff. Pouring gallons of it over everything. It literally taste like tomato sauce and bland ranch had a baby. I felt like it was missing something because that couldn’t be the same sauce people are raving about- no zing, no spice. It wasn’t terrible but not what I expected. On that note I guess we can add another pro. Since the food was so bland in flavor, I was kind of relieved to have the sauce - So there’s that… Fries are fries, whatever. The toast was cooked okay. Not sure why I thought it would of had like a nice garlic buttery flavor but no… Overall we were disappointed. This is a one and done for me and my family. I definitely overpaid $28 for two meals with extra sauce. When you...
