June 18th 2020 , 4ish pm was rushed to leave on a slow business day due to Covid-19, possibly. The food was great the other staff was great except 1staffer . The bill was $92 with a 8% tip that was for the other staffer. I normally tip 15% to 20%. I'm talking about the 1 staffer that fail. Told me to get my own Refill " Dog Whistle " during Covid-19, yep. Plus rushing us to leave, hovering near by rolling her eyes at me. Biggest issue I asked for the check and the badly trained staffer gave the the check to my wife while my hand was out." DOG WHISTLE ". First staffer left and then our experience went bad. For example "We felt like we was in a Waffle house or Denny's in the 90s in South, remember the storys. Throwing your change on the counter , eye rolling etc. " The Staffer in question is mid height young possibly that the issue short high and tight hairstyle, Female plus eyes rolling problem lack of vitamin D possibly. My wife is going to call the Store Manager to inform them. Been going there together for years before Covid-19. We spent on average $80 to $90 dollars in there on lunch weekly, close to wife job lunch dates ,and family of 6 checks crazy amounts. Please management 🙏 fix this issue with vitamin water and more training for...
Read moreThis place is perfect (without spending $300 on sushi). Everything was fresh and delicious but what I really have to rave about is the service. In a time when everyone is noticing that young people don't want to work, and they don't understand what hard work really is, blah blah blah (and in large part it might be true!) the people here greet you quickly, assist you, and even return periodically to check on you.
And they're young. Theo was one of the associates on the floor, and if you're talking about an extremely polite and observant young adult, then you must be talking about Theo. And when these "kids" are not functioning as your server, they can be seen doing side work (which some servers just don't do!) or cashing out guests at the register. Yeah, this is what it Should look like, but if we're gonna complain about how "young kids" this and "young kids" that,...well, these young kids just outshined a hundred other lazy and/or rude adults that I've seen (at other businesses) taking up space and taking a paycheck like they were entitled to one. Hats off to you Theo and the manager and the entire staff at Kuru Kuru Kahala. It was a great...
Read moreUp to 6 months ago I would have 5 stars. On 6/21 my experience was very different. When I special ordered their chicken karaage (Jpn style fried chicken) they pulled a basket off conveyor that had been circulating more than 10 minutes and brought it to me. I watched the pick up and when the girl brought it I asked her if it was ok? She said "Should be fine." I handed it back to her because it felt cold. She placed her hands around the basket again and said "Oh" and went to kitchen. My order was done in 10 mins. Would have been better to do that first. People 2 booths down asked for tempura. Different girl same strategy. This one picked the item that had been circling a long time, dropped it in front of the guest and moved away. As I was leaving i heard that person ask for hot dish as...
