Found this absolutely awesome place when we happened to be on this side of island. We live Mililani. Granddaughter wanted doughnuts after we had appt with a landscaping business nearby. Looked up doughnuts on Google and saw was nearby, plus all the awesome reviews. Had to try it. So, upon entering..was greeted by very nice "owner"?? working there. Since first time there, he explained how to order. Place was super cute and very clean..that's a must for me. We ordered 6 different types..made to order right in front of us. They have models with names that you can pick or you can create your own toppings. The plain doughnut is what you start with and it's amazing by itself! The box they come in is just too cute as well!! My first thought, OMG...they look fab!! Next thought, hmmm will probably be so sweet BUT ...NOT!! These were the most delicious cake-like doughnuts EVER! So soft, dense and moist!! Could've chosen without glaze BUT the glaze???...NOT overly sweet at all ! I'm diabetic and tested my glucose after...was in normal range!! I can't explain it. Hubby said "these are the most incredibly awesome looking and most delicious doughnuts I've ever eaten!!" Granddaughter was speechless...all we heard was lips smacking and she ate the whole thing which she normally doesn't do. Grandson got to eat 1 and wanted us to drive all the way back for more! The glazes were perfectly dipped and stayed on doughnut (we saved 1 for next day). Price was very reasonable. This is definitely our to-go doughnut fave and will be traveling that way...
Read moreSummer time is always a challenge of how to entertain children. This place was perfect. We are early risers, so when we found out they opened at 6:00AM we were thrilled! We have been here before, but it was really quick and the kids were too young. Now, they are much older, entertaining with amazing unicorn artwork and great, local iced coffee is just what a mother needs. We were greeted by Blaise and Brion right away. Sorry if I messed up the names. They explained how to order the donuts and made recommendations. Kids usually know what they want, but sometimes they are attracted to the look more than the taste. Good news is that they have a custom menu on the back of the menu if your child only likes chocolate. I got the plain, which is nostalgic of me watching a movie about freshly made plain donuts as a kid. Brion also gave us a free donut that tasted like a malasada! He even visited our table to give free unicorn stickers to our children. I really liked the unicorn butt exit sign. Switching gears as a hardworking parent or stay-at-home parent can be a challenge in the summer, so we are glad that purve set the atmosphere with yummy donuts and excellent...
Read moreAs colorful as the donuts is the rainbow on the wall. Green for mint, blue for berries, orange for li hing.
As fun as the donuts is the experience watching them floating on hot oil behind the display window. Gently dropped from the shaping tube into the oil pool, gradually turning golden brown, swiftly flipped to the other side, swimmingly arrived at the flavoring station.
As warm as the donuts is the kindness of the owner and staff. Before sunrise as we arrive, the sweetly scented, cinnamon infused warm air has already filled the store, hugging us as we find shelter from Hawaii's surprisingly crisp winter air. The owner handed us a free donut while we wait for our order to be freshly made. It's still dark outside, yet rising early and already hard at work, the owner and the young staff remind me of all of Hawaiian's small business owners.
Just 30 minutes later, we are watching the most beautiful sunrise on the beach with warm donuts in hand. Behind us, a light rainbow over a green hill. In front of us, the pastel blue ocean is dazzling in pink glitters as it reflects the orange sky. Green for grass, blue for ocean, orange...
