Lulu’s in Waikiki is a fantastic spot for a relaxed yet memorable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm, friendly service that sets the tone for the evening. The staff not only make you feel welcome but also offer excellent menu recommendations, like creamy garlic chicken Alfredo, but without the shrooms. They are on point when ensuring you don’t miss out on their standout dishes.
The location itself is unbeatable, with an amazing upstairs ocean view that perfectly complements the casual island vibe. Adding to the ambiance is nightly live music, which creates a lively and enjoyable atmosphere without being overwhelming.
Lulu’s menu is extensive, catering to a variety of tastes and dietary needs. Impressively, they have three full pages of gluten-free options, making it an ideal spot for celiacs, or anyone with dietary restrictions. They even reassured me the soy sauce was GF. The quality of the food is exceptional. The pesto salmon was phenomenal, perfectly cooked with a rich, flavorful pesto topping. The BBQ kalua pork burger was another highlight—sweet and sticky kalua piled on a perfectly charred burger that was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. Even the lemonade stood out, refreshing after a warm day, with just the right balance of sweet and tangy.
With the amazing food and service there has to be a downside, right? Not really... The only catch was the seating. The chairs were uncomfortable, which is good business for turning over tables quickly, but might detract from the experience if you’re planning to stay for a long meal and a chat. The server was patient, but 45 mins in, our tooshes were begging to go.
Overall, Lulu’s in Waikiki is a must-visit. With its friendly service, diverse menu, delicious food, stunning ocean views, and vibrant live music, it’s the perfect spot for a casual vacation meal, or ten.
It was busy when we arrived without reservations, but they got us right in. On the way out my wife remarked that she could not believe the quality of food they put out of their kitchen at such a family friendly price point. The perfect end to a...
Read moreReview from 01/12/2025 Ordered a Kona Longboard Lager on Draft $9 and a Lulu’s Bloody Mary $13 but made with tequila instead of vodka. Beer tasted like BUTTER AND VINEGAR. Like the line just got cleaned and no one bothered to flush it out. Usually it gets flushed by pouring about two pitchers. Most restaurants and bars do that automatically because they don’t want to lose business. This guys went the other way. The bartender was very nice but said she asked the manager and two other bartenders to tried the beer and concluded that “Beer is fine and that it was probably my first time trying it”. She then proceeded to tell me that the manager had taken the beer off my bill. Like, seriously you expect me to pay for that shit that I took one sip from? Then I realized she charged me an extra $7 for make a Bloody Maria instead of a Bloody Mary. I never asked for high end tequila or for double. It definitely didn’t taste extraordinary. See photo attached.
In kind words, stay away!!!!
I didn’t tried their food but you can get a nice place at the rail to lookout the beach.
Review from 01/15/2025 Went back for lunch since it’s the closest place that offers both beer and food after Diamond Head. Sat at the rail. We asked to sample two draft beer (Rice Breaker Pilsner and Pineapple Mana Wheat) and they were perfect! No vinegar taste. We also ordered the Fresh Fish Tacos as an app and they were delicious. I prefer them a little bit to the spicy side but the fish was fresh and juicy. Nothing a little dash of Tabasco cannot fix. Then we realized Happy Hour is from 2-4 so we waited 10 minutes to order more. From the HH menu we got both Ahi Poke and Spicy Ahi Poke. Spicy Ahi Poke was more flavorful than the regular one but I asked our server for the spicy sauce and it fixed the flavor. Also $2 off those beers we initially ordered.
If you love the full flavor of draft beer, I recommend asking for a sample.
But it still doesn’t undo the overpriced Bloody Maria and bartenders and bar manager condescending attitude towards tourists. Like we don’t know any better but drink...
Read moreI wish one bad experience didn’t seem to erase all of the great ones. Lulu is my favorite bar in Waikiki. Without a doubt, it has the best views for sunset and the best vibes for a vacation sports bar. I’ve been coming here since 2019 as a vacationer and now as a resident, this is the place to kick back, have a drink and some of the greatest food in Waiks. Without fails since coming, I’ve had incredibly delicious food like the Hawaiian style miso butter fish I could’ve licked that plate clean. It was so expertly crafted and crave-worthy. Now to the disappointment and why I haven’t returned in months is the terrible service. I received the last time I came. I’d like to hope that this waitress that it was her first day because the way I was treated was just abysmal. It truly felt like I was being straight up, ignored since I was simply a party of one and all of her other tables had larger parties. she dropped my food and drink off once and I literally didn’t see her again until I asked for a check. I had to ask a different waiter to bring me another drink to take my dirty plate away and she didn’t even ask how I was doing. not to mention when I did finally get her attention. I needed to order more food since the tacos order was a much smaller plate than expected and I was still hungry and when I placed that second order, she agreed with me that the serving size for that dish is quite small and she knows that most people order more, which would’ve been nice information to share when I first placed the order instead of after considering I had just swam all day long and was ready for a big meal. Not that she would know any of this, considering I was ignored very shortly after I placed the first order. I’d like to think that that waitress doesn’t work there anymore, but I’m honestly a bit afraid to find out which is a shame since they have the best food, best drinks and best views and I miss...
