Never going back. This location has really been struggling recently. The main reason we go here is convenience. We need a quick meal and the kids McDonalds. Tonight I got there about 5p and needed a quick meal grab before heading to a meeting at my daughters school for a meeting at 530p. We roll up and there are cones in the drive thru, but there are cars in the line. No sign, no one out there to explain. So, I decide to be compliant, I park the car. We head to the counter and stand there for at least 5 minutes before someone actually comes up to us. They were not shorthanded, there were a ton of people standing around by the drive thru side. Finally some of the ladies take notice of us standing there and start speaking in another language. Another woman comes out from the back and SLOWLY makes her way to us. All she says is, "I'm sorry all our grills went down." She looked at me like there was nothing they could do. Again, no signs, no further explanation. So I say okay and she turns around and walks away. I see a guy at the touch screen and tell him, "Oh, they said the grills are down." He asked if they were still serving chicken nuggets and they said yes. Again, no explanation to me, just a gesture that we are not able to order anything so I was about to leave. At this point my daughters have to go to the bathroom. I am waiting and waiting and finally I go over to the door thinking they are playing around. They come out and there are two employees right by the door with bags of their stuff like it was their personal bathroom. My daughter comes out and I asked what took so long and she said there was a lady braiding her hair in the stall. We wasted 15 minutes and still needed dinner. I suggested we just go to Teddy's, but my kids had their hearts set on McD's. Went to Aina Haina McDonalds and it was almost as slow and frustrating. Never made it to the school meeting. McD's was all about fast food. That was the perk of it. I'm done with the Hawaii Kai McDonald's and I probably should be done with McD's altogether. So much...
Read moreAfter 15 years of coming here, I am finally over this place, Over priced, inconsistent food. It’s Hawai’i over priced as is. But breakfast time is the only time to come to this place for great service, “ok food” proportion is consistent. But lunch and dinner I am simple I come for fries, shakes, and apple pies. Every here and there I’ll order actual food instead of sweets/treats. Every time I order food it’s usually the crispy chicken sandwich, the size of the meat it self depends on who is there, I’ve had a descent size, where I feel I am getting closer to what I paid for, but 90% of the time, the chicken is small and or overcooked, I add bacon which is only one choice, add 3 strips for 3 dollars 40-50cents. So with sandwich being 6.20 ish I am paying 10 for it. You never what you’ll get, Sometimes I get 3 full strips of bacon, most of the time I get 3- 1/4 to 1/2 strips, When I mention it to the employees, they say it’s normal. Tonight, I was so angry I smashed it and threw it away, I wish I had got a picture. It was so small, overcooked, and the bacon, I got maybe one strip cut into 3 small pieces. Paying 10 dollars for this sandwich is beyond ridiculous and knowing when you complain, they do nothing about it, and say it’s normal. So that was my last time going to this McDonalds. I’ve been pretty loyal in 15 years, paying for B.S, only complained maybe 4 times in the 15 years. This was the last straw. I get inflation, but shrinking and over cooking the food, and then talking to the employees, then they get mad for their mistakes, they expect 20 + an hour??? Most of those employees with their attitude should...
Read moreThe restaurant hours are from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm. That is for both the dining room and drive-thru. They always lock the dining doors by 9:00 pm or in some cases much, much earlier. For example, tonight, they locked the dining room doors at 8:30 pm (possibly earlier).
The decal that displays the dining room and drive thru hours have been altered. The decal for the dining room open hours and close hours has been removed from the decal for every day of the week.
Just a few months ago, they had signs that said we open till 11:00 pm. The website hours are listed Monday through Sunday 5:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Many patrons who wanted to go into the dining room left because the doors were locked. They did not go through the drive thru. They just left.
This is totally pathetic. They do this all the time!
I wonder if the owner is aware of this. If I were the owner, I would not be happy that my restaurant was actually closed during my stated hours of operation. Why would a sign be posted stating the dining room is open to 11:00 pm, but the dining room doors are locked by no later...
