I found this spot through a Google maps search. I called on an early Wednesday morning for availability and there was space for the service I was seeking. This is a medium sized nail shop with a beautiful view of the Hanauma Ridge. They have ample colors to choose from, new colors to include cat eye, a new gel polish with top coat in its lacquer and a new dip brand.
I arrived about 20-25 minutes early & I was promptly seated. My technician offered me a little cup of water due to my cough. I Took that as a really kind and thoughtful gesture.
This establishment seems to be clean. They utilize bags in their pedicure bays. Their nail instruments do not come out of sterilized peel packs, but they do have two small UV light sterilizers on the back counter. Some instruments and tools come out of their cabinets located in the back of the shop.
Jenny was my technician. She began on my pedicure. She did well, save the initial removal of my gel on a couple of nails. The bur did heat up to a bery uncomfotabke temp on my nail from too much friction, on both feet and I had to tell her it was hot. Not sure if she heard me because I wasn't verbally acknowledged; however each time she either moved on to another nail or finished quickly after. Interpret how you wish.
She took her time and was oddly quick at the same time! She communicates well and doesn't move on until your satisfied with your polish. She did try to get me to change the shade I chose, but I stuck with it. Not sure if that was based on experience, personal preference or what. In the end I was satisfied with the pedicure. While doing my pedicure she prepped for my manicure and soaked my nails. I do enjoy having my nails and toes done at the same time, but it gives a rushed feeling.
Before she cured the top coat on my pedicure she asked if I was satisfied. There was a small detail missing that I communicated to her and she happily fixed it. No attitude, no push, she just fixed it and I really enjoyed that. I didn't feel pressure to get something I didn't want nor did she try to tell me to comeback later to fix it.
Jenny also did my manicure. She was very communicative and we held pleasant conversation from time to time. She was very skilled with the brush and did an awesome job. Again she would check in from time to time to see if I was satisfied with the work. If I wasn't she was professional at correcting and communication.
When it can time to pay she gave a thorough breakdown of the price and had me verify if everything was correct.
I do recommend. I had a pleasant experience at this nail shop and would return. Ask for Jenny!

ย ย ย Read moreA several days ago I made an appointment online to go here for my bday to have gel x nail extensions with nail art and 3d nail services. When I got there it was pretty busy, another person was before me and then a few people came in after me. That were also waiting. The wait was fine, itโs also air conditioned so it was comfortable to be waiting inside. The bathroom isnโt far away, itโs outside to the right past T-Mobile.
After waiting, the owner, Dexter, came in and I was stunned because I didnโt expect to see him there and on top of that he ended up being my stylist! I showed him what I wanted and explained everything with pictures and he already had the ideas in his head making it his own. I was supposed to get gel x but after talking about it we decided acrylic was more durable and matched the design I wanted more. I didnโt know anything about the difference between them so he explained both to me well!
So after he started putting the acrylics on and finished shaping them I was already excited because they already looked perfect! I was amazed how perfect they were shaped already without any gel at all!
Adding the louboutin red underneath my nails were unique but they turned out amazing and the green on top was awesome too! (For those wanting to know what colors I used 747 DND green and 754 DND red). My ring fingers had a black base with a pinkish white cats eye and green and then the snake on top. Then when he did the 3D snake on my ring fingers he had his own vision and I trusted him and they came out even better than Iโd imagined! Iโve never had cats eye polish before and it enhanced the snakes so well. He even added details like 2 diff colors for the snake body, with black shading to create a shadow and eyes too!
The outcome was so clean and amazing! Dexter is an amazing artist! He made my vision literally come to life! Iโll share pics if it lets me!
I want to also add that I felt really comfortable being there, like I was hanging out with family. I go here for my birthday nearly every year because I just like how comfortable I feel. Will be back...
ย ย ย Read moreI was in over the weekend and had a very disappointing experience. I had been once before for a gel fill in and it was great, so I came back expecting the same service. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. The woman who was managing that day greeted me and wasn't particularly welcoming. I asked how much to remove the gel set and get a basic manicure with gel polish. She said $38. I waited 30 minutes for my turn, which was fine - I was a walk-in, no big deal. But when it was my turn, my technician was clearly in a hurry with zero interest in listening to what I was requesting. She was running all over trying to get the supplies. While my gel set was soaking off, she gave me an arm massage, but never once put any lotion on my hands. She asked if I wanted to keep the length of my nails and I said yes, but then she proceeded to file them down anyway, and very badly at that. They were uneven so I asked her to fix it and she only made it worse. At this point, I nearly offered to take the file and do it myself, but I was ready to just get it over with. In the middle of all of this, the manager came out and loudly berated all of the ladies in front of all the customers about putting towels in the warmer. Definitely didn't make for a relaxing environment. Then came time for the polish, which like everything else was rushed and poorly done. When it was time to pay, she tried to charge $5 more than what I was quoted, until I asked her to check with the manager. Basically, I paid nearly $50 (after a $5 tip) for a manicure I could've done better myself at home (and I did have to fix it at home). I won't be back, which is unfortunate because after my first visit I was ready to go...
