I came here for my birthday dinner a couple weeks ago and it was absolutely phenomenal. I've always been meaning to try Morio's but never had the chance since they are usually booked about a month or so out. So, pro tip: definitely plan ahead if you want to dine in here.

With that said, all of the food was delicious. There were dishes that I didn't manage to take a picture of because I was too busy stuffing my face. Still, no regrets lol.

The team was extremely accommodating for our entire experience. We added two additional people on at the last minute, which was no problem for them. Additionally, a couple people in our party, got stuck in traffic due to an accident and the team was very patient and made the proper adjustments to the timing of our meal. Additionally, they sent out a few drinks for our table to help me celebrate and it really made my night.

There are a lot of new sushi ya popping up in the Honolulu area. Every single shokunin puts a ton of effort, time, and thought into their craft. So, it definitely seems like there are endless options when you are trying to pick out a sushi spot for your special occasion. This establishment has been around forever and I definitely urge you to at least give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

One more thing to note is that the parking is actually on Young St. We were definitely a little confused thinking that it was on King St. Alternatively, there is parking available on the street on King St. after a certain time. But the building parking is validated and covered, so we opted to go that route.

My message to the team: thanks again for a wonderful meal! I can't wait to...

Aloha! Hai! Irrashai! Always worth the wait, really always. Made rez 3 months ago. We had a nice group of 8. We ordered the Omakase (Morio decides what you eat) & as always it was fantastic! Perfect dishes to go with our perfect Sakes & champagne (it's a BYOB place). We had so much fun at our Girls night out, we must call soon to do it again, yes but of course in 3 months, LOL. Morio starts you off with edamame, hamachi kama & tofu, then the sashimi platter, fresh raw oysters, fried fish, next sushi after sushi, after sushi, then soup...anything else you like? It can keep coming....da best dish the of the night? The slightly seared toro. Yummy, I can still taste it now, wow. Morio even gives you dessert, this night was tiny cheese cakes. I was so happy, didn't even realize it was 3 hours had gone by. We'll be...

I can't recall how I heard about this hidden gem, but so glad I did. Definitely a meal highlight from our recent vacation. My husband did an omakase experience (which I certainly would recommend if you don't have any restrictions with seafood) while I ordered off the regular menu. The food was plentiful and prices reasonable. I can't recall all of the types of fish he tried but one bite was better than the next. Sushi was also fresh and delicious.

This place is BYOB which is AMAZING! We had an array of beverages and they were kind enough to ice everything down and provide appropriate glassware. If you're lucky maybe you can sample some of their sake stash too...

Staff is incredibly welcoming and fun to boot.

I used to go to Morio's waaay back when he had a little place in Kuhio...it's been a long time since and I was a bit nervous hoping qualities's not changing...Yes!!! It was all delicious and Morio-san was great! Once you're inside and sit down then the staff will treat you great too but this particular guy came out when the restaurant open was not friendly nor welcoming at all...(He could be shy though...) But Morio-san is still great at what he's doing. I don't drink any alcohols but my friend was(her first time) super happy about BYOB and sharing "Kanpai" with Morio-san. It's hard to make a reservation but it's all worth it!!!

Morio’s Sushi Bistro was one of the best omakase sets I have ever tried. The different variety dishes presented were all amazing and interesting. The fried fish, and the miso fish had a very distinctive flavor and so flavorful. There were many different types of sushi and they were all delicious. As someone who is not a fan of raw mackerel, I found Morio’s mackerel to have a very fresh and non-fishy smell and flavor. My favorite thing that Morio served us was the otoro. To top out all off, Morio was extremely kind and gave us complimentary otoro sashimi and extra dessert. Great customer service and I’m really glad I went.
