One of the worst bars on the island. Food quality was unacceptable and had both hair and bits of plastic in it on my first visit (before they removed the Smash Bros. arcade), but decided to give it another shot. Terrible idea. Besides unsatisfactory sanitization standards, the staff here have extreme anger management issues and will actually become violent with their patrons for simple things such as using the restroom while waiting in line to order drinks.
Imagine forcibly opening the restroom door on someone while they are sat on the toilet using the restroom, for everyone in the bar to see, and then having them kick you out for no discernible reason while shouting "we choose who we serve" and threatening to call police. The staff here are probably racist, and if you support them then you are supporting the worst of Hawaii. These people have no Aloha, and they not only treat people lower than animals, but are quick to engage in physical threats of violence in lieu of reasonable conflict resolution. I was actually tearing up after this ordeal, I've never been treated worse by bar staff in my life.
Do yourself a favour and go to any other bar scene on the island. There are much better options. We are in the process of reporting Osoyami to the BBB and have them conduct safety inspections, to ensure no one gets sick. The only redeeming quality of this place is they have vegan options.
Eat here at your own risk.
EDIT: In response to the owners statement. No, I am perfectly aware of what happened, and your account is inaccurate. Please provide video footage from that evening to back up your claims.
1.) There was no "argument" about the bottle. I had zero issue with the 100% empty soju bottle being taken away (the entire reason I went there was to get a 2nd drink for a friend I was meeting that night, and Osoyami was the nearest spot).
2.) I took out my ID to be read by the bar staff, placing it in the counter, AFTER the female staff took my empty soju container. The female staff then decided for whatever reason to completely ignore me after taking the bottle, and she walked away instead - during this time, I noticed someone exiting the restroom and went to use it since apparently the female staff couldn't be bothered to check my ID despite asking to see it.
3.) Any further escalation at this point was entirely uncalled for, and the owner here stating that I "picked a fight" with another customer looking to use the restroom (which is physically impossible, since I was already in the restroom, [and didn't interact with anyone on the way to there] sitting on the toilet when the door was unlocked by a male staff member, for everyone in the bar to see, thus initiating the scene/public spectacle). The male staff then stood there looking at me on the toilet and said "wipe up you gotta leave", stared at me for about a minute, then closed the door while I finished.
4.) After exiting the restroom, I attempted to reason with the guy who opened the door saying that what had just happened was very embarrassing/rude. He seemed reasonable for a brief moment, and then suddenly the same female staff from earlier walked behind him staying "we serve who we want here and you've got to go" -- which led me to immediate confusion, then the male staff became physically aggressive and pushed me out of the facility. Completely unnecessary escalation.
5.) While outside, I lamented to another customer about what happened, he said "oh so that was you in the restroom? don't worry they (Osoyami) are just being a-holes", then a different female staff exited the building and started yelling expletives and threatening to call police, as if the confiscated bottle was the main reason for throwing me out when it wasn't an issue with my ID on the counter.
It's an excuse for your staff to jump to insane conclusions. At no point did I raise my voice loudly. Nor did I get physically aggressive. This all could have easily been avoided if the staff checked my ID and took my order.
The absolute bare minimum would be an apology....
Read moreI start off with the food We got fried edamame salted however was not really any salt on them Mozzarella sticks- they are frozen but fried good so they least are average.
Burgers do not come with fries which kinda does not make sense
I got the swiss mushroom burger which was a pretty flavorful burger.
My wife got the vegan western burger and said it was pretty good.
We ordered a basket of fries to share and was extremely disappointed not salted & just the frozen fries almost like you find at a mcdonalds. Which was a huge disappointment as not to hard to do fresh cur fries and with a how good the burger was kinda took away from the experience of the burger as just frozen fries.
The big thing we did not like was the smell, smelled like the have a drainage or sewage issue which.
So i would recommend getting your burgers as takeout if that’s a option, skip the fries don’t...
Read moreOne of the better bars in town, with a nice selection of higher end whiskeys, bourbons, and other spirits. The pour on the spirits are an ounce, so you may want to order a double. Their beer selection includes bottles of the standard domestics, Japanese imports, and some California crafts. The dining area includes a few high tops in the back corner with 3 DartsLive boards, 2 additional dart machines, a few arcade style games, a TV hooked up with 4 controllers for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Karaoke is available as well. The food menu has some standard bar fare like mozzarella sticks, French Fries, and Loaded Tots. They also have a pretty wide selection of specialty burgers. Lastly, the staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and...
