1. Walked in and asked how long to wait and told no more tables available at all, only bar seating 2. Went to bar and sat, waited for about 7 minutes and finally the bartender said its only drinks at the bar no food 3. Told him OK and headed to door, stopped to tell the hostess that the bartender said no food at bar and she was surprised and told someone else to sit us at a table. 4. Weird, it went from no tables available to magically they had a table 5. The server took a while to come out, but its busy, we get it. She takes our drink orders and one of our drinks is wrong. We don't tell her as it's probably not her fault, it's crazy busy 6. I hear 2 other tables complaining about slow service times to our server, what a mean thing to do since they are so busy 7. Order the appetizer sampler, was told one item is out so we get extra of something else and one french onion soup. 8. Server comes back and says all of the items are out. So we ask for more time 9. Ask the server what apps are available since the chicken tenders, wings and onion rings are out since that's what the sampler is. She says everything else is available but the sampler. Weird since that means I could have ordered everything else on the sampler but not the sampler. 10. Ordered a quesadilla since we were perplexed at the whole "sampler is out but you can order everything else" and our food 11. Soup came out right after so now one of us was eating soup as the other watched with no appetizer. Soup was luke warm, not hot and the flavor was OK but weird to eat Luke warm soup 12. Quesadilla and entrees came out at the same time, I guess we are eating them all together 13. The wife's burger came out smaller than she thought but she loved the fries and burger was OK. Super cheesy one. I ordered the Sausage and pepper abbruzi penne but the spaghetti and meatballs came out. The spaghetti was normal Italian food, nothing great 14. Watched as people got the 150 dollar burger and huge milkshakes, my diabetes said no. They seemed to enjoy it all 15. Really nice manager lady from Texas came by to ask how things were. My wife instinctively said "great" and she told us they are all about social media reviews and if we make one now we get something free. I didn't have the heart to tell her that if I made one now, it would be a 1 star for messing up my entree, her drink, the appetizer debacle and basically cold soup. Also, it's technically against Yelps policies to ask for good reviews for free products. 16. The fancy TV broke. Makes sense 17. Server gave us our boxes and the check. When she came for payment I told her about the incorrect billing for the food since my dish was wrung up as I ordered not what I got, as well as her drink. Which means that the server was correct and the cooks and food runners brought the wrong things. 18. The server did change the bills and also didn't charge for one entree, don't know if it was on purpose or a mistake but I took that as a win and tipped her like the bill was 100. Overall, the soup was 1 out of 5. The drink was a 2 out of 5, but wrong. The appetizer sampler we didn't get was a 0. The quesadilla we got with entrées was 4 out of 5, but came too late. The entrées were 3 out of 5s. The server was doing her best. All the staff seemed like they were doing their best and providing great service. I'm just giving 1 star because from hostess to leaving it was a hot mess. The only thing that was pleasant was our server. She was great and put up with some real jerks. One guy said "I was a bar manager and know how service should be" took all my strength to not turn around and tell him it's chaos because it's new, don't be a prick. Will probably try to dine there again with friends in a few months once the cooks get their acts together and people get familiar with the menu. Also, the deserts looked crazy good but were definitely not for 1 person. Oh yeah, they tried to bring us 3 different deserts too, but we were nice and said we didn't order them and the runners went "crap, table 63" or something.

Over-hyped. This place took a long time to open its doors to the public and when it did, it was extremely disappointing. Food taste and preparation is subpar. There were food items in the menu that were not available - like their Sugar Factory Rainbow Sliders and the Fondue, with the former due to ingredients-sourcing / finding a supplier that could make these. Their French Onion soup is laughable. When it arrived, I was floored that there looked like a floating piece of sliced bread with melted cheese on the bowl. It was so unappetizing, I didn’t take a photo of it. Aside from it being almost lukewarm, the taste is nothing to write home about. Please make a proper French Onion soup. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Their Fish and Chips though equally underwhelming, the fries (chips) were good - nice and crisp on the outside, while fluffy on the inside. My hubby ordered their Wagyu Smashed Burger - and that too tasted awful. (For comparison - Honolulu Burger and Chubbies have awesome burgers). Their cookie skillet took awhile to be served. We didn’t mind waiting, because we weren’t in a hurry. This was a good dessert with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. The rainbow 🌈 white chocolate sauce and the M&Ms were served on the side to us drizzle and sprinkle on the ice cream. The only redeeming quality during our dining experience was the service. Would like to see this establishment improve, but until then, this is going to be a hard pass for us when it comes to restaurant choices in Ala Moana. Suggestions: 1. It seems that the kitchen is having a hard time keeping up: Scale down the menu - appropriate for your kitchen and staff and watch the quality of your food items improve. Case in point - when The Cheese Factory first opened in Kapolei, they had a separate menu printed specifically for their soft opening. This is the way to go, while the staff establish their “rhythm” and operations in the restaurant. 2. Improvements need to be made now or you may be closing your doors in a year’s time. 3. Tone down on the celebrity hype - Hawaii people are too jaded with them, TBH. We like a good time and even greater-tasting food!

Easily the most overrated and overpriced restaurant I’ve ever been to. The location is supposedly brand new but many of the tables, chairs, and decorations look old and are dirty or falling apart. The advertisements and videos outside and inside the lobby show celebrities having a glamorous experience with their entourage or kids in pristine locations but this place is far beneath that so don’t hold high expectations of the place. Now for the food… in a word it was terrible. Was told the mini burgers with ducky were sold out so we couldn’t get the kids the one thing they saw on the menu that they wanted. We ordered them the cheeseburger and asked for it medium and both ended up coming out almost raw in the middle. I ordered the chicken parmigiana for my wife and I which they said was big enough for two people and while it was very large, the chicken was so hard that it was difficult for me to cut through with the butter knife provided. It was like chewing some overcooked TV dinner out of the microwave. The noodles and pasta sauce were like something they’d serve on the mess line during a deployment in the Navy. The goblet drink was really just a very large fishbowl of lemonade with some bland gummy bears and ring pops in it and for almost $40 you would think they’d let you keep the cheap plastic goblet as a souvenir but alas that is not the case. The logo on the goblet was even faded and flaking off from the countless washes they’ve probably put it through before it made it to our table. Whomever owns these restaurants is making an absolute fortune because the quality of what they have to offer is so poor that they must be making a HUGE profit. We bought the three meals and goblet and gave an 18% tip for mediocre service from our waitress and ended up spending over $125! We’ve eaten better meals at Hard Rock and even Olive Garden for far less. Will never eat here again.

We were a party of four that made reservations. We were promptly seated. I believe, they have only been open and operating for the last three months. So, it was close to 8 mins when all four of us were seated before we received water and our drink order was taken.

We were able to decide on apps and entrees before our drink order was taken. Our server was busy behind the bar so, another server came and took requests for sugar, etc which was requested when we placed our drink order. Almost 5 mins later our original server brought the requested items, but they only brought sugar substitutes when regular sugar was requested.

Our apps and food came out about 5 minutes apart. There was a request for salt as there was none on the table. The person we requested the salt from had a hard time finding any. They eventually returned saying they didn’t yet have salt shakers so they brought a small pinch bowl of salt, which was fine.

We were there for a couple of hours and our initial server came by once, when they weren’t busy behind the bar of which we were sitting right next to. There was a photographer that came by and offered to take a free photo of our table.

I forgot to take pictures of our meals. There was a buffalo chicken sandwich, a hamburger, and fish and chips ordered. The buffalo chicken sandwich had a large chicken breast. It had good flavor but was dry. The hamburger and French fries were okay. I would not order it again. The fish and chips had three pieces of fish that were in my opinion smaller than normal. I would not order the fish and chips again. The coating on the fish was okay not great, with a little flavor to it. The fish itself reminded me of frozen fish.

Considering we live on an island it probably was frozen fish, but I didn’t ask as my server was busy. We skipped dessert because we didn’t want to be there any longer. There was a table of four across from us that ordered a left over 90% of their food on the table when they left. I was thinking, maybe they just came for pictures.

There are several large screened displays showing celebrities and extremely excited people dining at various Sugar Factory locations. The people at our table all agreed we would not return.

My husband just sat down next to me, I told him I would be ready to do our pool workout as soon as I finish posting a review of Sugar Factory. He said, “Mmm, they weren’t good.” My husband says my cooking is good even when I throw out what I just made because it should not be consumed by anything living. He literally eats everything.

That being said, the price for the four of us was really reasonable at $150.00. My husband and I have spent triple that for just the two of us.

It takes a while for the service to be on point. The food is the only reason we will not return. I understand it takes a while for cooks to get up to speed, but we didn’t order anything other than normal everyday diner dishes that were subpar for...

I have been waiting to try this place for years. I was happy to see that they're coming to hawaii. I've seen the one in vegas and NYC. I've seen numerous pictures 📸 of cute drinks and was very excited to try it out. The atmosphere is super cute. My server was very nice and sweet. I always like to wait a couple months before trying a new restaurant bc they can work out all the kinks. Unfortunately, the timing of the kitchen was very slow and there were only a few tables. I saw others getting their fancy drinks but my smores took longer for some reason. It maybe the brand they're using, or the quality just isn't good. The flavors of the shake tastes like a cheap chocolate syrups, Graham crackers and chocolate 🍫. I couldn't even drink it. I should have returned it. But, I thought, well maybe I'm being to harsh. I took it home for my son. He didn't like it either. He said the flavors were bad. My son is a teenager. We've had better shakes. Now, for the food. I was excited to see that they had tacos. I love tacos 🌮. I'm originally from California. I've lived here for 35 years in Hawai‘i. I was hoping to have a good taco 🌮. I was so disappointed 😞! The presentation was horrible. It was like throwing slop on a plate. It seemed like a pile on pile of food that was all blended together. I saw other pictures of the taco 🌮 plate that had it on separate ramekins. It looked much nicer than mine. I got the Hamachi tacos. The fish was perfectly cooked but the citrus , oranges 🍊, I've never had that on any of my tacos. I've had a lime but not sections of oranges. The Cabbage was OK but not cooked or blanched and then this sauce wasn't what I've had before. I was very disappointed. Then my friend had a steak quesadilla. The carne asada is a steak. But the cut of steak was very fatty and hard to chew. The flour tortilla with the cheese was cooked perfectly but it had good flavor but the cut was just to chewy. Just disappointed with that presentation as well. It looked piled on the side and had it looked nice, maybe would have scored higher. And had it had a better quality of vendors, I would have given the food a better rating. I would try it another time but it seems to take a...
