This is hands down our favorite izakaya in Honolulu! Whether it’s just me and my boyfriend or a big group of friends, we always have an amazing time. The food is consistently excellent, and the staff really elevates the whole experience with their engaging and energetic vibe. If you love an interactive and lively atmosphere, this is the place to be! We always go for the tempura omakase, which never disappoints. The crispy, perfectly fried tempura is always a highlight, and it’s hard to go wrong with it. Also, the namida rolls are a must-try. They’re so unique and full of flavor—it’s something you won’t find anywhere else. On top of all that, they have a fun raffle when you order a large sake bottle, and we’ve won some awesome prizes. Last time, we scored a free appetizer and a cool mug, which was such a nice touch! All in all, this place is a total gem. Great food, amazing vibes, and always a fun experience. Highly recommend it!

Absolutely stellar service and atmosphere. Sat at the bar with a friend of mine, and the food came out quick. Everything we had was delicious. Our personal favorites were the hamachi in sesame sauce and the eel tempura. Extremely fresh fish and hot and crispy tempura. In the background, if anyone orders their wasshoi ikura bowl, they will have a staff member come and get everyone involved in repeating it while serving the ikura over rice for the customer. It is a lot of fun and just adds to the atmosphere. Will definitely come back. You can make reservations online the same day as well if there is availability.

Consider my rating a 3.5 stars. It was an ok izakaya experience. Fast and helpful service. Lively atmosphere. Drinks were good. Food fell a bit short. Taste on the whole was ok, but portion sizes were much smaller than expected for the price, compared to other izakayas in Honolulu. The most criminally undersized items were the handrolls, the cabbage with garlic noodles, and the yuzu cheesecake. They have some pretty odd items that make it worth coming here at least once to try, like the Brie cheese tempura and egg omelette tempura.

Food was way too overpriced for the taste. Sashimi tuna and hamachi were a little fishy. Maybe not the freshest. The tempura and handrolls were average Service was ok. It was a bit busy, and I feel like we were ignored in favor of other guests. Maybe they were regulars or friends of the staff. But we felt we were passed over or it was too busy or understaffed. It can be a bit noisy as well We were expecting more from our friend's recommendation. But unfortunately it was not met. Nothing really exciting or new and unique tastewise to justify the hype or the price. As customers, we can experience this at any or most Japanese izakaya style restaurant. Below average experience for taste/price...
