My visit to this charming eatery was nothing short of exceptional, providing a refreshing and nourishing meal in a peaceful setting.

The cozy interior, adorned with minimalist decor and earthy tones, creates a calming ambiance that perfectly complements the cafe’s philosophy of promoting peace and well-being through food. The friendly and attentive staff add to the welcoming vibe, making you feel right at home.
The menu at Peace Cafe is a testament to the creativity and dedication of its chefs, featuring a diverse array of vegan dishes that are as delicious as they are nutritious. One of the standout dishes is the BBQ Tempeh Plate, which features marinated and grilled tempeh served with brown rice, fresh greens, and a tangy BBQ sauce. The combination of flavors and textures is both satisfying and healthful, making it a perfect choice for a hearty meal.
Another must-try is the Popeye Sandwich, a delightful creation of spinach, tofu, and avocado nestled between slices of fresh, whole-grain bread. The creamy avocado and the savory tofu are a match made in heaven, and the sandwich is served with a side of crisp, refreshing salad. It’s a light yet filling option that’s perfect for lunch.
One of the unique aspects of Peace Cafe is its commitment to using locally sourced, organic ingredients. This dedication to sustainability not only ensures the freshness and quality of the food but also supports the local community and environment. You can taste the difference in every bite, from the vibrant flavors of the vegetables to the hearty grains.
For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert selection at Peace Cafe is not to be missed. The vegan chocolate cake is rich and indulgent, with a moist texture and a decadent chocolate flavor that rivals any traditional cake. Pair it with a cup of their organic, fair-trade coffee or a refreshing herbal tea for the perfect end to your meal.

Read moreThis place has a ton of potential, and I am very sad that I will probably not be coming here again.
The food here is great. My favorite dish is the BBQ Tempeh Sandwich. However, our order was messed up so many times that even the greatest food is not worth the frustration.
One time I got a tempeh dish instead of my delicious tempeh sandwich. Not a big deal, I can live with that, the dish was still pretty good. Another time we we were hoping for a quick lunch during work break. The quick lunch turned into a half an hour wait for food. When I finally inquired about the delay, they realized they forgot our order and gave us our food to go. While in the car we found out that the order was messed up. Also, their to go dishes seem to be smaller than the dishes served in the restaurant.
Another time we pre-ordered our food to avoid the wait. We intended to eat in the restaurant, but we were given food packed to go, which completely ruined our dining experience. Oh, did I mentioned that the to go portions were smaller than the normal dishes?
Our last visit was worst of them all. We came to the restaurant with three hungry kids. We were starving after a long hike. Can you imagine waiting for food with hungry kids? Let me tell, it wasn't pleasant. The restaurant was not too busy, and our family of five took up the entire table right in the front of the cash register girl who took our order. Not even once during our 45 min wait for our food did she wonder what were we doing there. I guess it is normal for a family of five to just sit in Peace Cafe taking up the entire huge table with just water on the front of them. During the 45 min that we were waiting for our food, at least three Bite Squad delivery drivers came to pick up their food orders. I realized that if we ordered our food through Bite Squad we would have gotten it. So sad.
Two stars because the food normally is great. This time we didn't get to eat at all. We will not be risking coming...
Read moreI came to Peace Cafe on a whim for my last meal in Hawaii before hopping on a plane back to the mainland United States, and wow...I truly could not have asked for a better final meal on the island! Peace Cafe offered some of the best vegan comfort food I've ever had, drawing from Korean, Japanese, Moroccan, Mexican, and American cuisines to provide uniquely delicious dishes at a really reasonable price. While the takeout-only operations took away a bit of the experience, I was honestly just so grateful that Peace Cafe was still open during the pandemic and that I was able to try out their amazing dishes!
I opted for their katsu plate with tempeh, and it was absolutely incredible -- the breading on the katsu was delightfully crispy, and the tempeh was remarkably flavorful. The katsu sauce was also amazing -- it had the most delightful curry flavor, and I honestly wish that I could just buy a giant bottle of this and put it on everything I eat. Between the black and brown rice and massive tempeh cutlet, the plate was incredibly filling, so I was really grateful for the little side salad and mixed greens to lighten up the meal. My friend tried out their katsu plate with tofu, so I had the opportunity to do a little side-by-side comparison of the tofu and tempeh -- both are absolutely delightful, but I, personally, thought that the texture of the tempeh paired a bit better with the rest of the plate. The tofu was softer and a bit more watery, but if you aren't the biggest fan of tempeh (or are just looking for something with a softer consistency), the tofu is a really solid choice.
One of my other friends tried out their heart and Seoul, and also loved their vegan take on traditional Korean flavors. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu, and I can't wait to find my way to Hawaii again to try out some of their...
