Prices have risen significantly at Da Spot. A combo plate (2 choice protein), which used to be 12 dollars as recently as January 2024, is now 16 dollars as of March 2024. When I eat out, I'm thinking about 1) how healthy the food is, and 2) the value I'm getting for the food. While the food remains healthy, the value I'm getting at the 16 dollar price point just doesn't justify coming here anymore.

I've raved about this place to all my friends before because it met both of my criteria for eating out, but I honestly can't justify coming here when there's other places you could eat healthy food with decent sized portions at a reasonable price.

The food still tastes good. I've loved the Thai Chicken Curry. the last time I went, it didn't taste as good, but that's probably because I went really late at night.

Lowkey the price raise might be a product of inflation everywhere. My personal list of somewhat healthy affordable meals that are under 12-13 dollars is slowly dwindling, which may be a sign of the times. I'm nonetheless disappointed that Da Spot rose their prices so drastically when previous price increases were maybe 50 cents to 1 dollar at a time, which made the blow much easier to stomach (versus 4 dollars).

I'm giving this 3 stars for the good memories I've had of this place, but I probably won't be coming back...

IT SUCKS! 《《《A total Hit-and-Miss Tread carefully & be spektic of overhyped 5-star ratings.

I recommend that you always ask for a (taste sampler cup) of what you're going to order. If the food on display, does not look as the images online (ex: lack of veggies, herbs, etc) = do NOT buy it. TIP: ensure that you ask the server to pour plenty of sauce on your plate and/or rice. ////====////=====///====

On 18 March 2018 (Sunday) about 8:30pm...it was my 2nd visit to this establishment. I got their Coconut Lemon Herb Chicken & it looked nothing like the menu image online, it lacked good taste, flavor, seasoning & spicing + my plate barely had any sauce on it + the saffron rice was tasteless! ...waste of my time & money, I should have gotten fast-food instead.

On the other hand (during my first visit to Da Spot) I ordered the Roasted Lamb dish @ about $9. My to-go-plate was served & displayed exactly as it was pictured online. It was full of herbs, veggies, meat shanks with PLENTY of sauce, and the saffron rice was on point! Super...

Da Spot is a hidden gem in town. It has delicious, healthy affordable dishes at fast "junk" food prices and speed. The portions are plentiful so even a $6 mini plate will likely fill you up. Regular plates are $8 and combos (choice of 2 entrees) are only a couple of bucks more (same or less than McD combo meals). Plates include rice and salad or you can get all rice or all salad.

Meals are very good and include lots of gluten-free and vegan options. Yummy chicken, fish, lamb, and beef with healthy veggies, herbs, and sauces -- all ready to eat in or take out. Made-to-order gyros are available too. Tastes are from around the world -- Egyptian, Moroccan, Thai, Greek, etc. -- so there is something for everyone. The baklava is a great way to top off your meal for only $1.50. The smoothies ($3 small, $5 large) are incredible too and about half the price of Lanikai Juice or similar places. There's plenty of room to eat in the dining area and parking is available in the restaurant's reserved lot around the corner or in the Longs lot...

Obviously I can’t give “atmosphere” 5 stars, as it’s more similar to an open air cafeteria buffet. But I’ve been able to quietly enjoy an extended lunch and get some remote work done without distractions and with graciousness from the staff. No matter the person helping me from behind the counter, they’re happy to answer my questions and again are gracious as I geek out over the options and (probably insufferably) wrestle with my final choices (Always go with the Morrocan meat if you haven’t tried yet🫠). Every time 😂 I honestly hesitate to mention how fair the portions are because the bang for your buck can’t be matched which seems too good to be true in a city this expensive and literally nowhere with such a variety with so many 🤤 delish flavorgasmic options! I am always filling up on food there but did try a blended drink once before…. Also amazing, of course

These guys have been around for years and I’m glad they survived COVID as many small eateries have had to close up. Prices are still very reasonable considering many restaurants seem to gauge patrons unnecessarily. I had my usual which is the fish gyro. It will take 10min to make so if you’re in a rush, this might not work for you. Today had all chicken dishes with a couple curry vegetarian options. All meals come with a choice of different rice options, and tossed salad. You can change up for salad for a nominal fee. I’ve also had the plates and they are delish. Shakes are extremely reasonable with many many options. The only downside is parking. Shhhh I park at Long’s and walk over.

Atmosphere // Chill // Okay I went here for the first time a couple days ago. I don't eat meat so I was happy when they had multiple curry options. If you're a tofu person, this is for you, but I was hoping they'd have potatoes or beans or even cauliflower inside some of the dishes because the texture of tofu is unpleasant for some. Overall, they have TONS of options for meat eaters, great background music, and some amazing staff that tried very hard to meet our non-meat needs. I'm sure I'd give this place 5 stars if I tried any of those dishes. But it's all good. I'd return to try out their deserts. Aloha! Allen
