San Francisco Bread Co — Restaurant in Hot Springs

Well, where should I begin. I stopped in on January 26th 2023 at 4:30pm and I was expecting to get a nice hot cup of coffee but instead I got ice cold coffee from the self serve coffee dispenser after already paying for it. I informed the employee at the counter about the coffee being cold, and she replied, "Yes, I know it was made at 7am this morning." This practice goes against the industry standard for restaurants to brew a new pot of coffee after 4 hours to maintain freshness and to ensure that the coffee has not become contaminated due to being in a public dispensing area. I asked the employee if there was any hot coffee available. The employee said "No there isn't any hot coffee made, but I can see if I can get you a refund or you can put your cup in the microwave to warm up your coffee." It seems rather disturbing that an employee would rather offer a refund which would cost a business money instead of make fresh coffee.

Unfortunately, the staff is not well informed about the fire dangers of putting Styrofoam products in the microwave and the cancer causing health risks of consuming food/drinks from microwaved containers. After several back and forth comments with the employee, she finally agreed to make a fresh pot of coffee.

I am surprised by this restaurant on how it has changed. For years, I have stopped in for a cup of coffee, a cup of soup, and even brought my family in for meals on many occasions. Unfortunately, the quality of service is not like it has been in the past. I have concerns about the safety and the quality of the food they are preparing, especially since the employees don't seem to care about...

My husband and I stopped in for breakfast afew days ago , I ordered the Greek omelette with sourdough toast, the omelette was toasted brown the veggies were lukewarm, had to look for the feta..the sourdough was not toast and cold the disappointment was they weren’t even busy at all! Then we sat down to eat thought we would take in the local and world news, CNN was on with rhetoric and opinions about stuff that happened over four years ago, so my husband asked if they could change the channel to current and local affairs,after all there are two very likely world wars and massive flooding disaster that hit North Carolina and Smoky National Park…not to mention a pivotal Election that will determine the fate of our Nation and the world as we know it. I think my husband may have asked to watch Fox News ,So I’m guessing the woman he spoke to was the manager,so what channel does she put on to be spiteful and hateful intolerant literal ,some rainbow unicorn poney cartoon,I guess she doesn’t need our business and we will never visit another San Francisco bread company, it was not a good experience and will make sure all our friends, family and our customers not to waste their time going there ! In all fairness have to say the lady who took my order was very polite but unfortunately the food...

LOVE the broccoli cheddar soup in the sourdough bread bowl 💖 I highly recommend. This place is lovely to eat inside, it has some nice comfy chairs by a fireplace and tv and the atmosphere itself is just really comfortable. There’s also some high top seats and tables all around. There’s all kinds of sandwiches, wraps, desserts and drinks to chose from so be prepared to study the menu on the wall for a minute. They offer a lot! They even have plant based burgers and veggie wraps! This is a deli style counter that you order from and they call your name when your food is ready. The tea, sodas and coffee is self serve which I appreciate as they have that “good ice” (like Sonics). I got the lunch combo with the specialty sandwich and soup- upgraded for the bread bowl bc I’m a genius. The sandwich was the 49r which all I saw was it came with Au Jus and I was sold- and good thing bc it was BOMB and yes, I totally drank the leftover au jus. The chicken paninis are good here as well as the veggie. So far everything here is worth writing home about and there’s surely something for everyone here- and I’m not even a big sandwich fan.
