I understand this might be a controversial opinion and that this place is great for some folks, but this was the worst place to eat with a young family that I have ever been.

There is no kids menu, with kids size portions and such. They only have an adult menu, so you pay more for food your kids don't eat that gets thrown away. There were none of the normal coloring pages, etc., to keep the kids entertained while they waited for their food Speaking of waiting, we waited for 30+ minutes for our food to finally come (excruciating with four littles). When we ordered, we asked them to make the kids food first and bring them out to keep them pacified. Instead, they did just the opposite and brought it all out together, while our kids sat there hating their lives for 30 mins. I was really frustrated at the "sorry we just do it this way" attitude and the unwillingness to make a small adjustment that would have been a big deal to us. When the food finally did get to us, all four of the kid's meals had been burned (overcooked) They forgot something on our order which we had to go and ask them to bring out to us. The ice cream was pretty good, but the cafe food really wasn't that great. Not worth the wait or the price we paid. Just another thing to add to the already bad experience.

I believe this experience would have been much more pleasant if my spouse and I were out alone. However, with kids and things being what they were, it was...

The food was delicious and we bought some Yak to take home. They were super busy when we went, which was fine. The biggest turnoff was what appeared to be a manager or maybe owner yelling at staff in front of customers. There were some mistakes and our order I'm thinking got lost but even with that I felt like it was uncalled for and super uncomfortable as a customer to listen as she chewed the staff up one side and down the other. Totally uncalled for in front of your customers! Then to make excuses and say well the manager was frustrated..... yes we all get frustrated but learn to control your anger and frustration especially in management! I felt so bad for the girl at the cashier's desk and the other staff. She looked like she was about in tears. I let her know she was doing a good job and to keep at it and keep trying. Maybe more training is needed. If its not working out Hey I understand but pull her aside and talk to her away from customers. What makes me so angry about the whole situation is that it was done in front of your customers. It shows poor management and leadership skills. There are a lot of things that could have been done that wasn't. I think the manager has some issues no one deserves to be treated like that. Hope this doesn't happen...

Found this local ice cream shop while we were here during 2024 Sturgis Bike Week. There was much road construction going on, so the street parking was at a premium. There is a public park with parking within walking distance across the street, so that can be an option. We only stopped for ice cream, but the sandwiches looked delicious. The garlic fries seem to be popular in South Dakota as I have seen versions of it at other establishments. We decided to get the 6 flavor ice cream flight. Cost almost $10, but we each picked 3 flavors and then tasted all 6. The ice cream tasted even better because they provided wooden spoons! Just like we remember as kids. Many flavors to choose from. The container was even compostable, which is great for the environment. They also had local frozen meat and gifts for purchase. Would definitely visit again if in the area. Great to...

Stopped in for ice cream. Bottom line up front: Great shop, come in for a visit! The shop is located right along the river in what seems like the old downtown area. We got two shakes. An espresso one and peanut butter, chocolate, banana one. The espresso shake was more like an icy, not as smooth and creamy as I was expecting. The peanut, butter, banana was more along those lines. We did get a pint of ice cream to go and that was delicious. Smooth and creamy. Not sure what happened to the shakes. They also have other food items, but we didn't get any of those. Also! They have local farm fresh items. Produce and meat. I love that!

Homemade burgers and sandwiches! REAL ingredients that make the burgers look like a polished advertisment photo.... and taste just as delicious as they look! Had a Bison Burger with all the veggies, halvarti cheese, on a gluten free bun, with fries - AWESOME fries - that I didn't have to pay "extra" for. Love it. Was given a scoop of espresso ice cream (superb) with my meal. The atmosphere, ambiance, some homemade furnishings - all great. And all this for a pretty good price! Love this place. Will be bringing my Lover (my Wife) and my kids here for sure! Thank you guys!
