My Father and I were recently in the area for business and looking for a decent place to stay. Found this gem and it exceeded our expectations. Built in the 1880's, the main level is a restaurant with a delicious menu but the rooms on the second floor we're amazing. This is not your typical hotel, this is a locally owned and operated resort. I stayed in room 207 which was huge, comfortable king size bed and walk in shower with dual heads. My father stayed in 210, very similar but had a oversized soaker tub instead of the shower. He loved it and slept great. I would highly recommend Red Rock as it's in the heart of the City, has good views of the bluffs but has the old world charm that makes the experience even better. I spend months on the road working and always enjoy staying somewhere unique and this is by far the best place to stay in Hot Springs.

It's a more vintage hotel feel. We came in the off season so the restaurant was closed. The staff were so sweet and accommodating. The prices were right in our budget. I really like that you can add spa services without having to do a package. We had a horseback ride and they allowed us to go a bit earlier and let us move back our couples soak as well so that we could grab a bite to eat. Our horse back ride was so much fun. We rode for an hour and the horses loved the exercise. We also used the spa area which included the hot tub, the spa room, sand room and hot granite room. Our room was just as we expected the bed was comfortable and the room cool enough with the window air conditioner and ceiling fan. We ate breakfast at a Cafe a couple doors down which was the best food. We will definitely come back to this hotel when we vacation in Hot springs again.

Great location within walking distance of several restaurants and shops. We stayed in room 207, and it was great. Wonderful bed, nice area to sit and relax, big shower with 2 heads. Window was difficult to open and bathroom/shower could use better ventilation would be the only minuses of the room. The spa was ok, mainly as the hot tub was no longer there. Sauna was nice, and the granite room was a change of pace. Then the sand room was so so. Could have used a steam room as well. Looked at the couples soaking tub and it looked nice. Definitely could use a package with a couples soak and then massage. At the moment, it is 4* but for sure has the potential to be 5 and seems like improvements are being made all the time.

I've really thought long and hard about posting anything but I don't want anyone else to waste their money and experience what I had too having our wedding at the Red Rock River Resort. So sorry in advance for the long post and I really wish i would have taken more pictures for proof.||Family and friends, if you had a room, please check your account to make sure you were not overcharged as my sister was and they wouldn't even talk to her about. Her room, as well as all the others, should have only been $135. They put their hand up in front of her face and said that they weren't even going to discuss it with her. They made the comment that they were "going to go through the rooms thoroughly and charge everyone for ever little damage" as there was another incident with a seperate room. ||They were writing down all of credit card information and names on a piece of paper that just sat on the front desk!! (Which hello... that's illegal)||When setting up for the reception we had a limited amount of time to set up between 3pm and 9pm the day before. This should have been plenty of time, however, when arriving we had to move and set up all the chairs and tables ourselves. The floors were ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! My daughters feet were BLACK after being there in the first minute! The same thing happened to all of us if we took one step without our shoes but this photo is one that my family member took. We also had to scrub the tables and chairs because they were filthy! We used 4 tubs of soap and water and the water absolutely black. There was still food on some tables! We also found a MOLDY PORK CHOP on the floor in the corner while cleaning! It was so hot!!! We had guests leave because who wants to sit indoors in the heat.||The morning of the wedding i wanted to take a bath in our jacuzzi tub. It took an hour to fill up (which is whatever). Once i got in and turned the jets on, it looked like i was sitting in a rootbeer float because there brown bubbles coming out.🤢||The night of the wedding they decided to shut the bar down early even though it was contracted till 2AM. Granted my husband was upset at them and tried to confront them on the filth, but the owner started yelling and grabbed the register and left.||The next morning when cleaning up i noticed that I had a Yeti cooler missing and had no idea where it went. When my Dad tried to find it for me they said it was in a room that they locked the night before after a guest already paid for it. They were extremely rude and said that whoevers room it was had to get it, but they couldnt give it back until they paid for damages in the room. I stated that i just wanted my cooler back and idk how it ended up in there. But after telling me that the individual was the only who could get it, they told my Dad if we paid $100 he could have it back. ||Everything was about money. We couldnt use their kitchen or fridge (besides for the cake) unless we paid $250. Originally the venue came with table cloths but then they wanted $20 a table cloth so i bought my own! After guests rented out all 14 rooms they still tried to make us responsible for the rooms. I had to pay $310 too have our bridal suite for 2 nights just so i could get ready in there the day of! ||When cleaning up our suite for check out, we looked under the bed to make sure nothing got lost. Low and behold we found socks, a pack of briefs, the owners mail, and an ungodly amout of dust bunnies and more filth! ||||Dont get me wrong, my family is a rowdy bunch!! But to call us a bunch of animals is not professional. To sit there and yell and curse and not discuss anything like adults is UNPROFESSIONAL!! The building itself is such a beautiful establishment and has so much potential. Truly sad to see people run it down and run it how they do. We paid over 2k for a place that we had clean and to be...

Location - 4star - Well situated to visit area attractions such as Mt Rushmore, Sturgis, Crazy Horse Monument, Wind Cave National Park. RRRR website does not promote much to see or do (locally) in Hot Springs. Cleanliness – 1star – Hotel is advertised as No Pets, saw at least 2 guests bringing in dogs. Bathroom floor had bits of dogfood under the free-standing sink. Had our room been superficially cleaned, dog food would have been vacuumed up. Bathroom tile floor was filthy. Wife stepped on a loose earring in bedroom, again leading us to believe room had not been vacuumed. Hair in bathtub drain upon arrival. Service – 1star – We checked in at 8 p.m. in the evening. Called phone number at the desk in lobby and was told key and information was in the room, which it was. We ran out of toilet paper that evening (10pm) and discovered there was no extra roll. When my wife called the guest services phone number, the Owner asked if she needed it “right away”. Owner did bring two rolls about 15 minutes after calling. No one to provide any help in the lobby in p.m. or a.m. Another guest helped us access the WiFi. Lobby appears to be undergoing renovation. The website advertises the “1891 Steakhouse and Bistro” No such facility exists. We felt the RRRR website was quite deceptive in what is advertised and what is actually onsite. Value – 2star- $135 advertised on website but we were quoted $155 night. $155 a night is reasonable for the area and we are not quibbling over price. It is the amenities/service shown on the website compared to what is available that causes us to provide the 2-star rating. Website needs a total revamping to accurately describe the facility...
