This review is tough for me because the owners were so nice when we checked in but something must be said as our stay basically ruined the majority of our vacation. We were given a second floor room in the motel part. We were exhausted when we arrived. Walked into the room and found a large puddle of water in front of the refrigerator. Looked like the fridge was turned down to lowest setting to save energy. Used a towel to mop it up and the wire towel was black after cleaning up the water. The TV stand had something sticky all over it. Was disgusting. The bathroom mirror look like it was wiped with a dirty towel and you could barely see thru the smudges. The shower has a very shallow floor pan and there appears to be mold all around the base. My wife refused to shower in the room. Thank goodness for the spa down the street. The beds appeared to be newer but I dropped my earbuds and looked under the bed while picking them up and that was a mistake. Our room seemed to be the only one without a shade in the window. The sun, moon and anyone walking by the room could see past the barn door style shutter in the room. Only saving grace was the massive spiderwebs (see photo). That blocked a bit of the view. Not to mention that we had to keep the window closed the entire time because the screen could be pushed in to gain access to the door lock with little to no effort. Now for the stuff that was out of the control of the owners but worth noting. Tried to eat at the cafe but the drive thru clearly took priority. Stood in line for a while as cars buzzed thru on the other side. We hopped in the car and drove to other side of town for breakfast. Went to Dolkar General and bought some cleaning supplies to try and make the room work. My wife took a nap after spending better part of an hour scrubbing the floors and counters. I decided to head down to the cafe for a coffee. Found a fairly large crowd laughing and enjoying a speaker at a makeshift podium. I thought maybe it was a comedian or the like. Nope, it appeared to be a religious ceremony and the speaker was poking fun at a trans person. Instant turn off for me. Wandered into town to a coffee shop about a block away. That evening our neighbor was enjoying about a gallon of VO Brandy and we found the walls to be incredibly thin. We were entertained with a myriad of sounds including vomiting until well after midnight and then started up at 6 am. By this time I was beyond furious, showered and packed everything up. When my wife awoke we packed up the car and I dropped the keys in the drop box and we paid for a room elsewhere. We ended up paying double for that night but well worth it for the peace and quiet.

We really enjoyed our stay here while we toured the nearby national parks and monuments! The Lodge is right on the lovely river through the center of town and the air is fresh and enlivening. They are also just across the street from a walking path which follows the river to a waterfall. The rooms have recently been remodeled and are very comfortable, clean, and smartly decorated. The owners of the inn were a VERY friendly and accommodating couple who ran a tight ship and gave a great restaurant recommendation for a couple hungry travelers. The coffee shop attached was great for a morning latte. The selection of snacks and drinks in the lobby was great. And they are VERY accommodating of pets! My fiancé and I only meant to stay one night but extended to a second because we enjoyed it so much. The owners also said they are in the process of redesigning the exterior of the Lodge to give it more of a mountain lodge feel, so it is only going to get better! I will absolutely stay at the Springs Lodge again the next time we come to Hot Springs and encourage you to do the same. P.S. the room rates are very reasonable!!

The lodge is perfectly placed with a beautiful view to boot. Couldn’t tell you how absolutely lovely the people who run it are including Phil who made sure I got into my room safe and sound before midnight after a long day of driving. And between the caramel rolls and the smiles, I couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. I’m sure they’ll get sick of me visiting my new go-to place when momma needs to escape to the Springs! P.S. Couldn’t have picked out a better sweater

Please read this if you are considering staying at Springs Lodge. I dont usually leave reviews, but we had a very bad experience with the owner. Our first rooms bathroom was not acceptable. The shower floor had standing water, the wooden bath mat had multiple large globs of hair stuck on the underside, the rest of bathroom floor was made of raised wood mats with fungus growing out the slats. Owner said "it's varnish not fungus" If it's growing it's fungus and very unsanitary. We accepted offer of a room with different bathroom. Second rooms tub had rubber bathmat with lots of long black hair twisted allover the underside. I took mat to the office, showed the owner, he offered a new mat and then said "maybe this is not the place for you, I think you should leave." I replied he should go tell my husband that. Then things got weird. He told my husband "there was 1 hair on the mat, she is just going to keep finding things to complain about and then she'll start bawling and I don't want to deal with it, you need to leave." I reminded owner we were booked here for 3 nights and it was Custer SP Buffalo round up weekend, there would not be anywhere to go. The owner said "I will give you your money back and double it and pay for another room." We had driven all day, it was getting late, it was 90 degrees, my husband had a terrible head cold and we knew there were no rooms available near by. I said the new bath mat would be fine and we would leave tomorrow. The owner reluctantly agreed. We should have taken the money and slept in our car. The rest of the room was just as bad as the tub. The towels had hair on them, bedspread was stained, hair and large black marks on sheets, even the fridge was dirty. Luckily we had disinfecting wipes, a couple sheets and some towels in the car. The next morning I saw the other owner/wife, told her what happened, that we were leaving and please give me a receipt showing refund. Her response was a shrug and "well you cant please everyone." To the owners: You dont know why someone is at your business. Are they on vacation? Are they ill and traveling for medical care? Maybe they are attending a funeral. You don't their situation and you should think about that before you so casually tell someone to leave! A clean, sanitary room is not too much to ask for. You could have said.... why dont you go grab a coffee, relax and we will get your room cleaned up for you. Instead you told us to leave! You ruined our plans to spend 4 days at Hot Springs. You lost our tourist dollars not only for yourself but for the other businesses in Hot Springs we would have visited. Please note: this "lodge" has a Google rating of 3.9, Trip Advisor 3.5, looking thru some past negative posted reviews, the owner responds by trying to discredit the reviewer. Everything I have said is true, I have pics to...

shower handle not working. Too hot to shower. Lied, manager rude. More details......

Front desk was not able to change rooms, locked out. Or some excuse. Told me in morning I would see refund in few days. Ok.

Waited a week, called and spoke to manager. Rude from start. India or Middle Eastern accent and attitude that " I slept there, thats all that matters," no refunds or apologies or discussions. That may be so in his country but here in the USA we expect showers n rest of amenities to work too. Not just bed.

Manager attitude and lack of interest in the room number or problem tells me the problem was known n not going to be fixed due to repair cost as it costs him nothing to be rude and refuse refunds but plumbers cost money. Likely dcaming owners too letting place get run down.

Scam alert. This was not a new issue with this room. Shower knob was frozen on all hot position n handle was stripped n just spun loosely from others trying to make it work.

ROOM was known defective and rented anyway.

Good chance manager does this often.

He argued with me making me try to justify refund. No, I not justify it. Front desk offered it. But that was Lie. when front desk told me she spoke to mgr n he will do full refund in few days. Lie, he will never give anyone a refund and she knows it. He said "Why should I be out money cause u could not shower. You slept there. Thats all that matters."

I was scammed by this hotel.

Rude, no service. Not care to hear problem, treated me like a second class citizen in a third world country. No one speaks to...
