We wanted to try something new, so gave this place a shot. We sat down with another couple next to us right at noon and ordered drinks and two burgers. The drinks came right away, but as we sat there we noticed the food was taking an unusually long time. We waited...and waited...and waited. The waitress never came back to check on us or fill our water. The couple next to us, who had been seated and ordered at the same time, were served after 45 minutes. They finished their meal and we still didn’t have our burgers, after more than an hour of waiting. Finally we decided to leave, and just pay for our drinks. As we were paying the waitress acted like someone had forgotten us, but gave us the full price amount and told us our burgers were "almost done" and that they would put them in a to-go box for us. Pretty infuriating after wasting our time waiting on their mistake. We took our now 'to go' burgers and opened them in our car. Neither burger was as we ordered it, leading us to believe they grabbed someone else's order to speed us out the door. While the food was ok the service was abysmal. We won't...

We ordered the meal for two and asked twice what that meant. This was not explained correctly at all. Anywhere we have gone that said a meal for two advertised the price clearly on their menu and that was the price for TWO PEOPLE EATING with one entree, two sides, and dessert. However when we got our bill the meal for two was DOUBLE the price and came out to $90 plus tip and an add on. The menu did not state per person and when we asked was not explained correctly. The manager refused to even take a small amount off the bill and insisted his worker explained it correctly. It was misadvertised and the waitress did not state it correctly to our group of seven… all of us heard the same thing. We would not have gotten the meal for that price,. We would have split a regular steak meal which would have been plenty of food for two people and it would have been $40 cheaper. That deal was two full meals for $45 EACH and should be advertised as such!

The food was great. Disappointed in how management handled...

We encountered some service issues which was unfortunate. Our waitress was absent throughout our entire visit, leaving us without drink refills or the chance to request missing sides like my mashed potatoes. However, that may have been a blessing in disguise as my FIL mentioned that his mashed potatoes were crunchy. My husband's Nashville hot chicken sandwich was hotter than other similar sandwiches he's had elsewhere due to a thick pepper sauce they applied, while my chicken fried chicken arrived very dry, seemingly unseasoned, unbreaded breast with a salty brown gravy instead of the traditional breaded version with white gravy I expected. The sweet tea had an odd flavor with minimal sweetness.

However, my daughter's grilled cheese was fantastic, perfectly paired with tomato soup. The ranch dressing was surprisingly excellent.

We were also sat on the entrance side and not the main dining area and the table and chairs are very cheap and...

Had a great experience here. The vibe is modern and historical/rustic with a focus on quality and attention to detail. The bar seating was comfortable and had leather arm rests. The leather bound bar and drink menus were also an indicator of the attention to the details of next level quality The food was amazing, generous, and the service was what you'd want for a classy and bespoke establishment. The menu has something for everyone. The bathrooms were clean and furnished with 3 star hotel decor and wasn't an afterthought in design and hygiene. The bar menu and selection of liquors and craft cocktails 🍸 are of a higher selectivity and quality than your probably used too. The desert - tuxedo chocolate cake -we had was also high quality and very delicious. Would definitely eat here again.

Although Whiskey River is located in a historic part of downtown Hot Springs, you’d never know that this was a new business in the neighborhood. The new decor and the waitress (she was very friendly) expressing the handheld tab device was new to her were the only indications. We came in for a late lunch only one week after their opening day. We ordered the French Cuban sandwiches with fries (they were delicious….sorry, forgot to take a photo) along with a couple of Sodank IPA’s (craft beer lovers will approve!) We wish the owners the best of luck and we’ll be back for sure!
