Attended the restaurant this weekend for a bridal shower/ dinner. I was excited because I am such a foodie, I was very underwhelmed.
First things first, the parking staff was rude and uninterested in helping. I parked my own car in the valet area due to finding the spot while driving through to the valet. As I was paying I asked the gentleman since I was paying to park would they provide valet service when I was leaving, it was late when we would be leaving so I wanted to be safe and was told “yeah, we work for tips so just tell one of the guys and if you tip then they will get your car.” I’m a tipper in general but shouldn’t the valet bring your car around in general with the service?
Secondly, the room was too small to accommodate the amount of people attending the shower. According to the website, the party room would seat 20-30 people. That was not the case. The chairs were crammed so close that it was almost uncomfortable to sit, however there was also no standing room. The shower hostesses made their intentions and number of guests aware before booking and were told 30 guests would fit comfortably.
Thirdly, There were 2/3 servers I believe, for a party of 27 with a 3 course meal and drink orders. Also, only 1 of those servers was taking orders. It was almost impossible to order drinks and when the food was delivered there were a few guests waiting quite some time before eating while waiting for things like disposable cutlery and steak sauce.
Now, the food, Absolutely terrible. If I had to compare I would compare to a cruise ship dinner service but a little worse. For $65 a plate I expected more. I ordered a filet, medium. The filet was burned on the outside and completely raw on the inside, happened to another guest as well. I ate a small piece and ended up cutting the steak in half because my cold Mac and cheese was fully red, I was thinking wow all that blood from one cut on a medium steak? The center was completely raw so I sent it back. The waitress came back with steak the size of a steak medallion. I didn’t complain a second time because well, after twice I was good because I wasn’t going to eat it. The Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were cold and had absolutely no flavor. If I had to guess I would guess it was the bacon flavored velveeta cheese macaroni and the pouch of just add water potatoes. I really wish I would have taken a picture because you would be able to understand what I’m saying if you could see it.
The last issue I had was upon check out. The waitress provided incorrect information to different hostesses pertaining to the tabs and whether or not the alcohol was included within the minimum for the room. The bride was very upset because she couldn’t understand why they were asked to pay almost double because the alcoholic beverages were not included in the tab and we’re not advised of this in the contract or upon reserving the party. Guests ordered more items to ensure the minimum was met and come to find out the waitress was incorrect. The manager came in and corrected the situation however the first thing is, she corrected her in the middle of the room. It wasn’t loud or rude but there is a way to handle situations when an employee is uneducated in your operations and that wasn’t it. The manager also never attempted to come in and assist even before the situation escalated while she and other staff were outside the door trying to figure out what was going on without actually trying to assist. The bride called her in after standing the the doorway watching the situation escalate. She simply stated the server was incorrect, spoke to her in front of the entire party, without addressing the party and walked out very unapologetically, only after the bride, her bridesmaids, and a few guests had been trying to figure this out for about 45 minutes. Forget picture time right? I’ve been trying to keep it light due to staffing shortages, which is why I didn’t take a picture of the food but I really...
Read moreI’ve been visiting 51Fifteen for years, and it’s incredible to see how much it’s changed over the years! My most recent dining experience was this past weekend when my boyfriend and I visited for Houston Restaurant Weeks. We came during Lunch and it was packed! Highly recommend making a reservation! It was great to see them doing so well considering the pandemic is really effecting the restaurant industry. Staff and guests wore masks, hand sanitizer was provided and tables were socially distanced. We felt very safe!
The entire staff was so welcoming and friendly. We were greeted by the hostess and she seated us immediately. We came on a Sunday and there was live piano music by Michael Angelo, it was absolutely delightful! Not only is the restaurant stunning, the live music really added to the overall ambiance and made our dining experience even more pleasurable. The bartender Octavio was fantastic! We ordered just about every cocktail on the August drink features and he hand delivered each one, giving us a brief introduction every time. Not only were they beautifully crafted, they were all so delicious and unique! We would definitely come here just for the drinks itself.
We ordered from the HRW lunch menu and had the Chopped Wedge Salad and Garbanzo Soup for starters which were both delicious! For our main course we had the New York Strip and the Lemon Pepper Salmon. Both were amazing and perfectly prepared! Lastly for dessert we had the Macedonia di Frutta & ice cream and the Key Lime Pie. Both were beautifully plated and delectable! We thoroughly enjoyed everything and can’t wait to come back and try the dinner menu!
We want to give special thanks to Carlos and Rafael for taking such amazing care of us during our visit. They made sure everything was to our satisfaction and kept checking on us which we appreciated so much! The level of customer service was above and beyond, and they definitely made us feel like family and VIP’s! I really want to commend them both, as they were engaging with customers throughout the restaurant the entire time, and making sure all guests were enjoying themselves. You don’t see this level of service at restaurants anymore!
Overall, the entire experience was just incredible. The food, atmosphere and service were all impeccable and looking around, everyone seemed to be having a great experience just as well! There was nothing but smiles and laughter throughout the restaurant. This is the perfect place for any occasion whether it be brunch, a casual lunch date, a romantic evening or a girls night out! 51Fifteen has so much to offer, and never disappoints. Definitely one of my all time favorites and a...

I just wanted to pass along some feedback about my husband and I's experience at your restaurant 51fifteen for restaurant week...we only chose this menu because it had flavors that we loved and it a friend had said that her dining experience there previously was pleasant. I want to make it known that the only time i ever send food back is if i pay a lot for a steak and its cooked wrong or if i order a benedict and the poached eggs are overcooked (because that defeats the purpose of a Benedict) but im sorry, the meal was absolutely terrible. Appetizers were okay, the mushrooms tasted like fryer oil though...but the entrees were absolutely horrendous. I got the lamb and my husband got the steak. he ordered his steak medium and I ordered mine medium rare. His steak came out blue and raw...so yeah I'm sorry but it's a steak and we paid extra for prime, so we sent that back. I'm not going to pay for inedible food...then when they brought it back, it was cooked well, which I don't even care about the temperature at that point because at least he could eat it. what really pissed me off is they brought the same steak that he had cut in half and taken a bite from, and just poured more sauce on it. First of all, pretty sure that's a health code violation to put something a guest eats back on the grill where you will be cooking for others. Secondly, when you recook a steak like that especially after it's been cut in half, it loses all it's flavor because all the juices leak out of it (the whole point in resting a steak)...
for my lamb, I didn't send it back because I already felt bad about sending back the steak. but it was as raw as his and the fat was completely un-rendered...like I sent my family a picture of it who all eat rare and medium rare, and they said it looked like it had worms coming out of it.
I have attached pictures of both. I swear I'm hate doing this, I just really wanted yall to know what your kitchen is putting out on the table and how your FOH team is handling it.
I really didnt want to post these pictures and write terrible reviews because my husband and i both work at restaurants ourselves. I know I hate when my restaurant gets bad reviews, but I do appreciate when guests tell me about our shortcomings so I can make sure they don't happen again in the future.
Just wanted yall to know, even though we will never be dining in your...
