I visited JOEY Uptwon for the first time and it won't be the last. I had heard from customers and read reviews about how great the steak and ravioli bianca is and I can tell you as a foodie who has eaten around the world that this is one of the top 5 dishes I have ever had! Hence why I am leading off with it in my review. The steak was cooked to perfection and as an added measure, I added lobster to the dish (on recommendations from my server Nieisha, who was great!). Once I ordered, my food arrived in just a few minutes and the presentation was 5 star! Rarley do I have a dish that makes me slow down to take in all the flavors, but this one did.
As large as the restaurant is, it is very intimate. Let me explain. The word intimate means very close, or private and personal. Because of the way the restaurant is designed, it is easy to have an intimate setting.. The lighting is a bit dark overall, but it sets the mood. Most importantly is table spacing... As I looked around and even walked through the restaurant, I noticed the tables were spaced at a good distance. It allows for you to have a private conversation without being too loud. I specifically asked for a table on the floor so that I could stretch out my legs as I have double knee replacements. They accomodated my request and gave me a great table for two against the partition dividing the indoor space with the patio. Perfect!
My server Nieisha was very good. I could tell that she was very busy being that it was a Saturday night and the weather was good so everyone was out. However one she began to take my order, she made the night enjoyable. Her suggestion to add the lobster to my dish was spot on and the night cap, which happened to be the best latte I think I've ever had was tops! This is definitely a hang out spot for people who are in the know. The young movers and shakers so to speak. Well, us 50 somethings too LOL. The dress code is casual but you will see everything from suits and formal dresses, to jeans aand stylish T's. However its a great crowd from what I saw. People were deliberate in having a great night out on the town and weren't acting out for attention.
One piece of advise if you're using the valet service. Make sure that if you plan to stick around the restaurant past 9pm, use the valet directly in front of JOEY's. There are two directly opposite of each other and the one on the mall side closes at 9pm so you would have to make sure you got your keys from them or move your car again. Overall I had a fantastic night out and as a single guy who goes out alone often it was definately worth it! Beautiful women, sharp gents, great service, and some of the best food around. I...

Indulgence Redefined at Joey Uptown in Houston's Galleria
In the heart of Houston's vibrant Galleria district, where you get the full vibrant mix of both upscale sophistication and casual modern style lies Joey Uptown – a pinpoint perfect representation of what a young modern luxury upbeat dining experience is and should be! Joey/J Uptown boasts a symphony of sleek designs and interior style that is comfortable yet uncommon by comparison to many restaurants of this caliber in any major city. This upscale haven isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience!
Let's talk about just a couple of their food highlights: the Steak and Lobster Entree really is an authentic well prepared harmony of two of the most favorited dinner choices from both worlds, the succulent 8oz steak is grilled medium/medium well perfectly with a beautiful charred exterior(seen below) giving way to a tender, juicy interior that's a true testament to culinary experience. Paired with a lobster tail that is juicy, firm, and tasteful. BUT the true unexpected standout item lies in their unique Mashed Potato creation. An elevated touch to this classic side of heavenly comfort that makes a very filling meal. Imagine a creamy butter style mashed potatoes, surrounded by a crispy coating that melts in your mouth. And if THAT dish isn't enough you can choose one of their other most popular items The Steak and Shrimp Truffle Ravioli. For those seeking an even more daring adventure and experience, the Steak and Shrimp Truffle Ravioli beckons.
Picture delicate ravioli parcels surround a thin sliced 6oz beautifully seasoned steak topped with choice plump shrimp, luxuriating in a truffle-infused pool of velvety sauce, each bite offering a repeat of crescendoing flavor.
And finally the service one of the best parts was the service from Janae mainly because her recommendations from the meal itself to the wine pairing and cocktails selection is what made this experience possible. Although I do not think you could go wrong with anything on this menu as even the starter option was a package of diverse balanced flavor and presentation!
Looking forward to...
Read moreMy wife and I have been to this Galleria location several times. First, the host and hostess always have a warm welcoming greeting when walking through the door. You are greet by well dressed and fashionable team, who make you feel very welcomed to the restaurant. Even though this location is always busy, this fine Host/hostess team offer you a glass of champagne and a nice place to sit before your are promptly seated at your table. That was just the beginning, because once you are seated, you get to be served by the finest waitstaff. The waitstaff are always warm, friendly, funny, and willing to help make your night enjoyable by paying attention to the small things. We have had both Collin and Alejandra serve us multiple times with great success. Based on your taste, they are very good at offering suggestions when deciding what to drink or eat. They are willing to have short conversations and are often throwing out funny banter. Finally, they are always attentive to our table, even when they are handling multiple tables and want to make sure our experience is excellent. You can tell this restaurant is run by a great team of managers. Not only do they lead by example, they are always on the floor checking on the tables to ensure your night is going just right. The managers are always recognizable throughout the restaurant. They are always some of the most fashionable dressers. We have had the pleasure of speaking with two of them much more than the others. Gentlemen…if you want to dress to impress? Well check out Joey’s Manager, Jordan. That guy is always in an impeccable suit and it is different every time! I hate to see that guys dry cleaning bill! Now ladies, if you want to see what the up and coming fashions are, well look no further than the Joey’s manager, Destiny! Now the food and drinks…the bar makes one of the best Old Fashions I have had. My wife enjoys the various cocktails, and pretty much loves them all. For dinner, their steak, sushi, chicken, lettuce wraps, you name it, it’s all good! But best of all…the Butter Cake! This kitchen is phenomenal! My wife and I don’t return to the same restaurant often, but Joey has become a regular for us because of the overall merriment,...
