Been going to azura for a while but lately everything has changed. I dont know if there is new management, but the entire atmosphere is different. Though they b have more "mangers" on the floor, and require the wait staff to be "fully clothed", their attentiveness to customers is horrible. If at any point you go, make sure Cici is not your waitress - middle aged black lady. She ignores you, doesn't check to see if you need anything, will walk by you, make eye contact and continue to another person. My wife and I spent an hour at azura this particular night - it wasn't crowded, many tables still open. We waited 15 minutes before cici came over to take our order. We waited anther 15 minutes to get a frozen premade drink and a Moscow mule 5hat had been sitting at the bar for at least 5 minutes before she decided to grab them. When the food was brought out, she never came by to see if we needed anything additional [kitchen staff supplied food], so we ate our food dry. During this time, we attempted to get refills on drinks, calling over for her, waving her down, and even making requesting her. She never came. After 30 minutes, she finally came and asked if we needed anything else- yes! The check! It then took her another 15 minutes to bring the hand held machine over to cash us out. She then tried to hurry through the charges - making it almost impossible for us to see. Then proceeded to say I didn't need to worry about any of the follow-up questions. So in the hour that we were there, we airbrush me time waiting for service then whisky being and to enjoy ourselves .
Also.... music is too loud for the space. There maybhave been 50 people in total in the establishment, and the music was being played as of it...
Read moreI always have a good time at Azura. The vibe is chill, the DJ usually plays mostly older music (not “oldies,” but throwbacks that make it feel nostalgic) and will even take requests — last time he said “whatever you want to hear, I’ll play,” which was dope.
The food is always on point. I love the egg rolls, cheesesticks, and even the salmon. Drinks are reasonably priced and usually good — sometimes a hit or miss on flavor, but never trash. Lemon drops weren’t great, but the green tea shots were amazing, and you can’t go wrong with something simple like a Crown & Coke.
Now, the hookah is tricky. I don’t know what they have going on, but most flavors taste burnt, like straight hot coals. The only one I can count on being good is the gummy bear flavor — anything else, not so much. And when I’ve told them it was burnt, they’ll puff it and say “it’s good now,” but it’s not. Still, gummy bear keeps me straight.
Parking is free, and you just need an ID (or even a passport like my friend used once) to get in. Never had to pay for a section — if there’s a spot to sit, you can sit. Staff is decent, not overly friendly but not rude either. Plus, you can order everything from your phone using the QR code on the table, and they’ll bring it right over, which makes it easy.
Overall, Azura is always a good time. Free parking, good food, decent drinks, a DJ who makes it fun, and a vibe that keeps me...
Read moreFirst time going there July 4th. It was empty, and for the 2hrs or so we stayed, we barely saw 10 patrons. That's not good.
They have daily specials, and I believe a day long happy hour on specific drinks each day. Scan the QR code to see the deals. Our server was nice. Very attentive. Drinks tasted weird, but are strong. Got 4 fireball whiskey shots, and we noticed the measurements were not the same in each glass. Please invest in some shot glasses instead large whiskey glasses.
My food was pretty good. Cooked my lamb chops just right and the chicken wings were good. Wish they had authentic pepper sauce. And please add some celery or carrots with the chicken wings.
Came time to pay and that 's when we noticed a 18% service fee charge. We asked the sweet waitress why such a charge for 2 people dining. And she explained management wanted to share this fee with the other backend staff. But unfortunately they the waitresses only see pennies. So if I'm to tip at 20%, I'll be tipping a total of 38% of the tab. That's just outrageous. There is no justification for the 18% charge. Nor a warning to patrons of this charge before we sit to dine. The 18% service fee is ILLEGAL. Suffice to say, I won't be a return customer as long as this fee...
