In this review, I discuss the items ordered, the prices, the taste, serving size, ambience, payment method for the food items and the customer service presented by the business proprietor.
What we ordered: My friends and I ordered shawarma, suya toast motherfua, asun and the faya suya. Shawarma costs $12 and the toast cost $15. Asun costs $20.
Wait time: If you don’t want to wait, order before coming in. Otherwise, you’ll have a 20-30 minute wait. The vibe is very chill though and they serve you bottled water while you wait.
Taste of meal: The shawarma was very savory instead of too cloyingly sweet. I enjoyed that.
The asun was giving the asun taste and the presentation was nice. However, my friend complained that the goat meat taste overwhelmed the whole meal and you couldn’t taste the flavoring.
One thing to note is that the suya spice/yaji spice doesn’t taste like the original at all. That was quite disappointing. It was essentially steak with red spice. I mention it as something of note because comparatively, other suya seller spices taste like the yaji spice we eat in Nigeria or very close to it.
My suya had way too much fat (about half the suya) but the proprietor was very eager to fix that after I complained about it. He had also noticed it when the food was being prepared by one of his chefs but was told I asked for more fat 👀. Miscommunication. He fix that by giving me another plate of suya.
Serving size: Another thing of note, the serving portions are large here. The shawarma was about 8 inches long, so longer than a subway half sandwich but not as long as a foot long but it was about 4 inches wide, so maybe almost double the width of a subway sandwich bread. The asun was in one of those small traditional black bowls and was filled to the brim so that my friend was able to take some of hers home. The toast suya was agege bread but was cut in slices. The bread was slightly bigger than a sonic Texas toast bread and was wider too. My friend added an egg to hers for $5.
Ambience: The cooking space was open so customers could see the chefs doing their thing. That was interesting to see. Additionally, the place was well decorated in colors of grey and brown and had decorative knives on the wall. The interior had clearly been put together with a theme and that led to a space that was very calming, relaxing and open.
Payment method: They had electronic payment here as restaurants often do. I was able to use Apple Pay and my debit/credit card to pay.
Overall, it was a nice experience despite the wait, so if you go there, take some friends so you can relax and chat together...
Read moreMy husband and I came in at 820p and no one greeted us or acknowledged we were there for over 10min. We stood in front of grill and register to order. Finally we found their website online and ordered online for pickup in store. We ordered grilled lamb chops and grilled ox tails. We waited another 45 min not being acknowledged by the staff as we watched other people get their orders fulfilled. Finally a nice gentleman worker apologized for not serving us and asked to take an order. We told him that we placed an online order and we waited another 25min. ove this time we told our food was being prepared (obviously it was not no food takes over 1 hr to prepare). At 950p my husband was bought his food but not mine. We were told they were working on my food. After he completely finished his meal; we told to wait longer. I asked for my food to be in a to go container because it was now 10p and I was tired and hungry. We left at 1015pm with my meal. When I got home my lamb chops were scrap bone (no meat what so ever) that was charred. We spent a total of $110 to wait 2 hours for...

Now back to this review- am not much of a meat eater either considering my age of over 60 plus but I drive almost every other weekend to purchase the Faya Suya and the noodles made with torso and veggies- mind you I don’t normally do any form of pasta or noodles BUT I find me doing this one on the regular- when I go - I buy in bulk and freeze The workers there especially Ibrahim are wonderful & very diligent at what they do - When you go there tell him - his new mama sent you lols . Their Faya Suya is really tasty , fresh and juicy. I have sent their link to as many good food lovers like me . The taste of the pudding, is always in the...
