Update 7th April 2019 :
This was my second visit to this place and unfortunately I have to rate them 1 star this time around. (1) 20 % gratuity for a buffet??? Come on ! give me a break. (2) Couple of dishes were extremely tasty and some of them the exact opposite - insipid. Gonkura rice was good and homely. Paneer gravy - so so, the guys were not topping them up frequently and couple of visits yielded a gravy without paneer in them. Chinese Okra and another eggplant/drumstick curry was not good at all (opinion of my entire family). Yogurt was extremely sour. Pickle was "weird". (3) Staff seemed pretty friendly. No issues there.
Here are my view on this place :-
(1) Very pricey. They should be at least $ 3 cheaper to be competitive (2) Service is not good. It wasn`t crowded the day I visited but they were still struggling to serve food efficiently. I waited almost 10 min for a dish I asked for. I would rather want to see one person going around all the tables with the dishes in hand asking people if they needed more rather than walking free hand and asking & then forgetting to bring it. (3) Tasty homely food (4)...
Read moreWhile food is Okay, service is bad. The A La Carte menu is ridiculously expensive. 1st Visit: Took a to-go order, asked for Poori got Batura. They give only one Poori with Aloo subji for 10$. Ordered Mysore Bonda, Poori and utapam and were given only one chutney and one sambar. When called them they dint bother to refund for goof up on Poori. Overall expensive food and wasted ~35$
2nd Visit:Gave them benefit of doubt and went for lunch thali which was ridiculously priced at 15$ each. We went few minutes before closing, they could have said that they ran out of food but they dint. Instead they served cold food and there was no rice. The expressions on every time we ask for something was as if they were serving food for free, we paid 55$ for the food that day and ate cold food, half cooked rice. Overall their expressions while serving food made us very uncomfortable. Will make sure to forward this message to all the watsapp groups locally and let the...
Read moreThe food tastes like something you would be served at an Indian wedding or celebration. The food is authentic, rich and sumptuous. The service was fantastic. The absolute best place to get South Indian food!! Great experience, atmosphere and a great way to get traditional South Indian Thali in Houston! Would recommend this to first timers or people new to Indian food. Gracious sweet owners who strive to make sure you never see the bottom of your plate and they really make you feel welcome and at home. You also can't forget that the food is absolutely wonderful! Worth every penny!
