Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Houston

I’ve been going here for over 10 years and the last 2 years there has been a big drop off in service. What use to be a 2-5 minute stop became a minimum 15 minute stop, for donuts and kolaches. Today was what really prompted me to leave a review. Waited for 10 minutes for someone to take my order, with literally 2 people ahead of me. While waiting, my daughter pointed out a promotion poster, buy a kolache and a donut for $4. Great, so I ordered 2 kolaches and 2 glazed donuts and it rings up as Regular price. $9.56. I tell the lady that the price is wrong, it should be $8+tax. She tells me she won’t honor the price because I didn’t tell her in advance and there’s nothing she can do. So you advertise one price and charge another price: got it. Losing a long time customer over $1.50. I’ve Been patient each time but will no longer be stopping by here. There are plenty other...

We had ordered 26 dozen donuts from another business, not Shipleys, for marketing. When we showed up this morning for the 26 dozen, they failed to call and let us know that their machine broke and they couldn't fulfill our order! After many dead ends, we arrived at this Shipley's location. The owner, David, was there and SAVED THE DAY! I cannot tell you how AMAZING and HELPFUL he was, not to mention his impeccable customer service skills. It organized multiple locations to make these 26 dozen donuts happen for us. SAVE YOUR SELF A BAD EXPERIECE BY GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE. I work near by & this place is usually closed. And when it's open the lady at front is the rudest if you are NOT a man. She won't even aknowledge you until you ask her for something & when she does help she is beyond rude & makes faces at customers & not to mention that everytime she over charges me. I often have to questionned her about the prices. Kolaches are also always cold and she won't even heat the up, she will tell you to do it yourself as they have a microwave outside...
