Bebidas — Restaurant in Houston

Cool spot to grab a cup of coffee or a small bite and catch up with friends, however, do not expect friendly staff. I’ve been coming here since they opened and their staff has consistently had zero personality and barely mumble “Welcome to Bebidas” while not bothering to look up from their phones. No matter how many staff embers come and go, it’s the same lack luster personality types that seem to get hired here. But I’ve found this to be the case at all Adair family restaurants, with the expecting of Skeeters and Los Tios (always super friendly, topnotch service). Our waitress at Adair Kitchen thought Rosemary was a cheese and couldn’t answer confidently about anything on the menu and the same two waiters at Eloise Nichols that never smiled and we always had to hunt down to place orders were actually promoted to management. But the food and atmosphere (and happy hour at EN) are so dang good at all of their restaurants that we continually go back. It’s never bad service, just always subpar service. Again, the atmosphere and food are always incredible. But any-who, being that Bebidas seems to be health conscious, we would appreciate more dairy free and/or vegan options on the menu. I am a regular here with my husband and we usually love our food and drinks but today we were very uncomfortable watching the manager bully the African American barista. We have African American foster children and they sometimes tell us how they get berated at work but it was truly upsetting seeing it happen in real life for myself. I wanted to give the manager a piece of my mind but they started getting busy so I’m just leaving this review. Bebidas I’m disappointed

Edit: Worse than my precious visit. I understand it’s Halloween but there is absolutely no reason for my drink to take over an hour. My food was okay because it was cold. We like to sit inside and watch our drinks get made but it was a literal circus in there. Train your staff it’s getting ridiculous. I never even got my drink which was disappointing. Came here last Saturday on a pleasant cooler afternoon. Indoor seating is limited but lots of outdoor seating. The weather was wonderful though so during lunch time outdoor seating filled up- they definitely could add more tables out there. I would not come here when the weather is too hot or too cold though bc it’s unlikely I’d find indoor seating, and the appeal of this place (for me) is their large patio.

Cappuccino wasn’t special- 2/5. Disappointing that they serve all drinks in to-go cups. I’m doing my best to limit micro-plastic exposure, so I avoid drinking hot drinks in plastic-lined cups bc they melt. —Anyways I would come back here and order a cold drink instead.
