From Five-Star Feast to Sad Hotel Buffet: Beikos, What Happened?
Last October, I was introduced to Beikos and thought I had found Turkish breakfast heaven. Picture this: hot tea in a real teapot (not the “here’s your Lipton” treatment), silky Ezine cheese, multiple kinds of börek, sizzling menemen, and sucuklu yumurta cooked just right. I wasn’t sure if I was eating or being serenaded by breakfast angels. Hospitality? Perfect. You’d half expect someone’s grandma to come pinch your cheeks.
So naturally, on a return trip to Houston with my husband and kids, I bragged non-stop about this place. Big mistake.
We walked in expecting warm greetings. Instead, a woman across the room vaguely shouted “open buffet, help yourself,” as if we’d wandered into a roadside motel. Should we have turned around right then? Absolutely. Did we? Of course not—because hope.
We grabbed our plates and discovered… sadness. No Ezine cheese. No kaşar. Just some mystery-white substance pretending to be cheese. The butter? Probably took a wrong turn at the margarine factory. The menemen was cold, the sucuklu yumurta tasted like regret, and the tea—oh, the tea—was a lukewarm yellow liquid that might sue for defamation if you called it tea.
Water? Nope. Service? What service? No one checked on us. For all I know, I might still be sitting there invisible to the staff. At one point I wondered if this was a social experiment testing how long it takes for humans to eat disappointment.
We later found out the place changed management. That explained everything. The new crew seems to be running on the fumes of the old owners' reviews. And as a final touch of chaos, they couldn’t even print a receipt.
So do yourself a favor—don’t fall for the glowing Google reviews written in the good old days. If you want a real Turkish breakfast, go to Waterstone Ranch Turkish Farm. They still know the difference between tea and…...

Read moreI was just there for lunch and I had a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was inviting, and the cleanliness of the restaurant was impeccable. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel right at home.
They offered us both the regular menu options and the lunch buffet, we went with buffet, it was a great deal and the quality and freshness of the buffet options exceeded our expectations. The buffet spread was impressive, with a variety of fresh and flavorful dishes to choose from. Each item was carefully prepared and tasted absolutely delicious. The lamb shank, in particular, was a standout - tender, juicy, and practically falling off the bone. It was clear that the chef takes great pride in their culinary creations.
What truly stood out was the personal touch from the chef. Not only did they ensure that the buffet offerings were top-notch, but they also took the time to come out and personally inquire about our dining experience. It was a thoughtful gesture that truly elevated our meal.
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a delicious dining experience with excellent service. Whether you opt for the regular menu or indulge in the buffet, you're sure to leave satisfied and impressed.
