As a fellow business owner, I understand the importance of customer service and the impact it has on business success. My recent experience at Cellular Wear in Houston was a mix of frustration and appreciation, which I feel compelled to share.
Payment Process: My frustration began with the storeās payment policy. Despite attempting to make a significant purchase of $3,500, I was unable to use tap paymentāa secure and modern convenienceādue to the storeās restrictions and ignorance on fraud prevention and tap payment. This led to an inconvenient and costly process of transferring funds, which was both unexpected and unnecessary.
Store Hours: The discrepancy between the storeās posted hours and actual closing time was another source of irritation. Being asked to leave at 6:30 PM, despite the advertised 7 PM closing time, was not only inconvenient but also felt dismissive, especially given my willingness to make a substantial purchase. Despite resolving issues with my bank and having funds available by 6:46 PM, I left without the product due to the storeās lack of promise to deliver the service it promised which is a 7pm closing time that needs updating.
Store Hours and Marketing: The early closure at 6:30 PM, contrary to the 7 PM time listed online, was another point of frustration. Meanwhile, the staff were outside creating social media content for marketing purposes, which, while important, should not compromise customer service
Management and Customer Service: While the staff exhibited commendable dedication to customer service, the ownerās approach to customer interaction and business operations seemed misaligned with maximizing profitability. Itās apparent that revenue-driven decisions are at the forefront, yet thereās a lack of consideration for the long-term benefits of providing a cost-effective, accurate and friendly multichannel shopping experience.
Final Thoughts: Iāve given the store a five-star rating because the employees deserve recognition for their efforts. However, I hope the owner realizes that adopting a more customer-friendly attitude and an online storefront could significantly enhance profitability and customer satisfaction. While I might consider returning in the future and spending $2,000 to $3,000 weekly, it wonāt be my first choice.
I encourage others to support businesses, but if youāre a savvy business owner, it might be best to steer clear of the owner until the/his ābetaā phase is over.

It was brand new, still in the wrapper! I have not had any issues with the MacBook. I absolutely love it. Keep your receipt to show Apple. If possible, ask staff at the store when they originally purchased the product because Apple might use the date they retrieved the product. A quick call to Apple Support should remedy the discrepancy. I was able to purchase AppleCare+. I only caution you to do research for the best price.
