I have been a loyal customer for many years. Sticking to my norms, I purchase fragrances twice a year. A few years back I decided to try something different. Of course I had NO particular fragrance in mind. When asked if I needed assistance, I told the gentleman the names of what I usually purchase but added that I wanted to try something new and had no idea of what I wanted. I then stated,'You pick it out."
OMG! He was definitely up for the challenge. He walked across the store, picked up two bottles of fragrance by the same maker, did a smell test, walked back over to me and stated,"Try this one." Call me crazy if you like but my response was I will take it. I would not have benefited from trying it on because I was already wearing fragrance and I would have had a hard time discrimminating between all the other aromas in the room.
To this very day, I still receive compliments from strangers, men, women and coworkers regarding the fragrance HE CHOSE for me. I write all this to say, Trendsetters not only offers great prices but if you ask a salesperson that has worked there for a great length of time to help you find a fragrance, you might be surprised at the assistance you will receive in finding a perfect fragrance that truly compliments your body's natural odor.
NOTE: HE DID NOT PICK UP THE LATEST TREND NOR THE MOST EXPENSIVE ITEM ON THE SHELF. No pressure Trendsetters, just a true story! ;-) and I will be heading...
Read moreI usually come to this store because the prices are cheap, but honestly, the way I get treated every time I walk in makes me question if it is even worth it. Being a Black customer, I feel like I am constantly being watched and profiled. Instead of feeling comfortable while shopping, I feel singled out and disrespected. From the very moment I came through the doors, security followed me and stayed on me the entire time I was in the store. It was not just casual watching, it felt like I was being stalked. What really bothered me is that other customers who were not Black were able to shop without being bothered at all. That makes it hard not to believe this store has a serious issue with racial profiling. I should be able to walk into a business, spend my money, and be treated like any other customer. I work hard for what I have and I have no reason to steal. To be treated as if I am guilty of something, simply because of the color of my skin, is not only wrong but extremely offensive. This experience left me feeling humiliated and unwanted as a customer. No matter how cheap the prices are, no one deserves to be treated like that. This store needs to do better and realize that all customers deserve respect. If things do not change, I cannot see myself...
