I would say run My first experience with a lawyer it was horrible really horrible. She is an overpriced lawyer and if you’re not paying attention you would really waste your money before you catch on to all the crazy charges. I hired attorney jones in Aug and it is now December and nothing was done on my case. I paid over 6,000 dollars and most charges were settlement meetings and phone conversation and miscellaneous stuff you would think I would have something done to my case and I don’t. I had to hire another lawyer just to put in a motion for the over charging of my account which they are going to have all their prices and charges looked at and corrected and a complaint with the bar. I paid 500 to sit with her a strategy Paid 2500 because it was suppose to be an easy settling. Paid 2800 to sit down and come up with another strategy the same one from before and to come up with a draft settlement. The other party has filed a motion in this time frame back in beginning of November Still no draft no knowledge of the other motion from other party. I had at least 3 strategy meetings with questions on what do I feel like doing after the meetings on clarity on how to go about the case still and for me to still get charge for phone conversations asking what to do that’s what the 1000 dollar strategy meeting was for. Never made it to mediation, nothing just phone calls strategy meetings and miscellaneous stuff but nothing to show for it and the other side been waiting for a draft of a settlement for months to settle. Another lawyer had to tell me the other party filed a motion the day I hired her and told me I missed the deadline due to the dragging of the feet of my lawyer which does not look good from my side now. Then they back door an asked me for 3500 a week later after paying 2800. I told them I wouldn’t be able to pay until Jan and i thought it was crazy asking for more money when I just paid them and phone conversation was over charged like 300 dollars and I had to pull my t mobile bill up and it’s not matching up the time frames, they charge me longer then I was on the phone with them. Basically was told business is business and then I was dropped literally a couple days later. Contacted another lawyer to help and found out a month ago a motion was filed and I missed the deadline with no response called Attorney jones office and asked them what happen and I asked for my case files which I have a right to I already had another lawyer at this moment wasn’t asking for legal advise and I was told they don’t represent me no more please stop contacting the office. They will dragged their feet and charge you 300 to 400 for a phone conversation and that will make up majority of your bill. A case that takes 3000 to 5000 majority lawyers charge they are charging 12k to 20k for with basic needs and when you get your statement you will see why. Most people don’t blink an eye because they think that’s normal prices but it’s not after talking with the ethics and bar association even over charging for phone calls that I was not on that long. seems like they are never on one page at all never. You will talk with attorney jones and then their other lawyer will come asking you the same questions and charging you again to clarify information that was already given. Don’t call and ask for an update about your case because they charge for that too as a phone conversation. Thank god I kept all my statements and something told me to go look at my phone record to see if they match up and they didn’t and I was told something’s are not chargeable and I was still charge. I did ask them to fix my statements but they don’t answer the phone nor return emails real unfortunate. There response for the money being to much when I did mention all the pointless charges is don’t put a price tag on your child, this your child we’re talking about that’s how they keep you there but reality is there is other good lawyers that’s not charging an arm and leg !! You’re going to waste a lot of pointless money going this...
Read moreIf you're reading this message, DON'T HIRE JONES LEGAL!!! This message is saving you tens of thousands of dollars. I didn't read Ashley Beavers review from a year ago, until a month after hired Jones Legal and I received my first invoice from them. I knew then I had made a huge mistake but I had already paid them a large retainer fee and this should be simple. Then the nightmare began. My case involved two court rooms and initially we had a strategy meeting for 20 minutes which they billed me almost $1000 to see the which route we would take which they did. Then . the large invoices start coming with emails, phone conversations, and with "miscellaneous". I asked what "miscellaneous" was that and they said it was the work they were doing but that was a lie! All they did and had to do was file a motion. Then I began asking about a court date after 3 months after I had paid them over 5k. Then they start dragging their feet and pushing the court date back, saying I had a unpaid invoice that needed to be paid before we can go to court but the invoice had already been paid. The next 3 months I spent going back and forth about invoices I had already paid and them billing me for telling them the invoice is paid and update their system but they wouldn't. They would say Mrs. Jones had to do it, but she never did. I asked them to update their system over a dozen times. I then advised them that the Ashley Beavers review is real because everything that happened to her is happening to me. After 6 months I wrote a bad review, similar to this one. I received a phone call from Alecia Jones acknowledging my frustration and requesting that I remove the review, which I did. I then received a court date after 7 months and almost 10k. We finally went to court and the judge advised us that we were in the wrong court room. It was embarrassing and heartbreaking, to say the least, but I knew at that moment, they planned this entire scenario. After the hearing they advised me I needed to locate the other party and we'll go to the other court room. They thought I would continue with them and pay them another 10k (for filing a motion $1000) and go to the other court room. Now I know that they knew all this from the very beginning and advised me to go to the wrong courtroom so they continue to bill me and lie to me about "miscellaneous" fees when all they had to do was file a motion ($1000). They even made me pay $1000 to alternative serve the other party which was meaning less because I was in the wrong courtroom. They lied to me about everything from day 1, starting with their quote. I realize now after hiring a knowledgeable attorney, that I could have hired someone to locate the other party ($500) and hired an attorney to file a motion for $1000 and Jones Legal was trying to screw me out of 15k-20k for a case that should cost less than 2k. They basically lied to me and stole my money. This is a simple case the involves my locating the other party and serving them. I tried to speak with someone at Jones Legal but they wouldn't return my calls and requested we speak through my case (lawyer app). I have since fired Jones Legal because they are more than just dishonest and inconsistent, they are incompetent, diabolical, and pure EVIL! Consider this your warning! DO NOT HIRE...
Read morePlease do not get legal services from Attorney Jones or her staff. This office is dishonest, inconsistent in their policies and have poor communication. I retained services, For my fiancé and they are basically dragging the case out lying about court dates and giving the same update as they gave the previous week before. We handed them literally 2 of the easiest cases that should have been done with within a month or 2. But no they want more money that was not discussed in the beginning. Nobody explained the way it worked. So basically the blind leading the blind. They told us one price then came out of no where with big bills named miscellaneous, emails, phones calls and all. Our meeting Attorney jones said we should not have been charged for phone calls and she would correct the bill however she did not! There are several invoices on the account that says unpaid however we paid them and also have the receipt to show they never marked off as paid but keep asking for money. I then let them know to update that information and I was told by Mrs. Jones she would get them updated and I haven’t heard back since. We should have have had a court date but when I expressed that we would need a little time to pay another added balance we never heard back from them when initially she said that would be ok since of course we just paid a nice chunk to them. Now they are Mia! That is unprofessional behavior and this is why majority of African Americans do not want to do business with their own ppl cause they steal and destroy lives smh. They were paid for a job they did not do and I want...
