Cafe Express — Restaurant in Houston

I've been to Cafe Express several times over the year. They do an awesome job pairing healthy food options (i.e. salmon, spinach) with bold and fresh flavoring. As a mother, it's awesome to see my teenage daughter pass up a grilled cheese sandwich for a Mediterranean salmon dish with sautéed spinach and love it!!! That is what compelled me to write this review today. Thank you for maintaining creativity and freshness in the menu. The condiment bar provided added bursts of healthy flavors (capers, tiny pickles, picked carrots, olives, hot sauces, etc). From a price perspective, taking fish like salmon into consideration, and given the quality and flavor, the pricing was more than reasonable. I wish third party delivery would allow us to include these condiments. Also, thanks, Isiah, for helping with our questions about the menu. For those who are disappointed about something in their order, my advice would be to bring it up to the team. My wife placed an order with the cashier for a cheeseburger with Monterey Jack cheese and bacon. When she got her food it's a cheeseburger with avocado. she took it back and said her order was incorrect. Instead of apologizing for mistake,he asks if she was sure that that was her order. It was on the tray with my daughter's order so yes. Then he just looks at her like she was confused and asks if she knew her order number. She said no, she had already given back the buzzer. He continued to stand there. So she goes back to her table pull the receipt from her phone to find that the cashier input the order wrong. How do you get avocado from bacon? 4 syllables vs. 2??? By this time, she lost her appetite. Further, my daughter's burger was burnt anyway. This is the worst service and food I have ever had at a cafe express. This location sam houston pkwy, will never get anymore of my money. Note to self NEVER leave a tip until AFTER service is rendered. ...ps. Order a picked around 11:45 to be ready at 12:15, I was running behind and didn’t make it there until 12:45 and figured my order would be on the pick up section for to go orders. It wasn’t there so I figured maybe they moved it since I was running late. When I get to the young women working the register I tell her I am here to pickup an order and she starts complaining about the system not working and making excuses. She then tells me since my order was $80 there is no way it will be ready anytime soon and tried to get me to move out of line. She did not look around for my order or ask anyone, she just told me to wait. I explained to her I was already late coming to get this order so how can it not be ready. A older gentleman looked around and saw my order was sitting on the counter behind them, gave me my three bags and I left.
