This was one of my worst dining experiences ever. We arrived at 5:45 pm...i ordered trout plate and my husband ordered shrimp oyster combo...we also ordered shrimp diablo for appetizer and hushpuppies for a side. First thing...shrimp diablo came after waiting for 20 mins...ok fine...but it was burnt till it was black!!! Second...after 30 mins the waiter comes to tell me that they are out of trout. OK fine - but seriously you wait 30 mins to tell me that??? i ordered fish/soft shell crap plate instead. my meal came out after 15 mins after telling them the reorder (the soft shell crab was like this little hard piece of crap, the fish was OK but overall the meal was nothing good). however, we NEVER got the hushpuppies nor did my husband get his dinner. We asked the server where my husbands dinner was...he said its coming right up. i finished my meal and my husband still did not get his meal. then i was LIVID. i asked the waiter and he said it will take ANOTHER 10 mins...he said there were alot of tickets before his order although the idiot forgot to put our order in. I asked to speak to the mgr...who was nice and respectful. he said the meal would come right out and he would waive the fee for it. Finally after 6 more minutes of waiting and no food for my husband i was like forget it. Seriously this place sucks...i can't blv it has gotten good reviews, I'm typing this while i feel like throwing up after eating their food. on top the service was CRAP. the only thing good was the manager who talked calmly and tried to make things right. but in the end we left with no food for my husband and i feeling sick from the...
Read moreFirst time going to this place seeing it has good reviews and I placed an order to go. I ordered about $75 worth of food and when I got home my wife and I were shocked at how little food we got and how it looked. The fried alligator looked more like popcorn chicken and it appeared to be mostly small breading pieces and the amount that was in the container wouldn't even fill my hand. For $16 I would have expected a little more as an appetizer or at least look similar to their menu picture. There were also very few fries that came with our entree's. For $20 and $25 dollars I would expect at least a little more fries than your average kids meal.
I returned to the restaurant to try and remedy the situation and the wait staff were super nice and polite when I picked up the food at first and when I returned. Once I got there, the manager came out and didn't say a word to me and just stuck out his hand for the receipt. I gave it to him and he looked over the receipt and the food without saying a word to me and went to the back. He returned and gave the refund receipt to the waiter that was there instead of myself even though I was only a foot away. I was more upset at the lack of customer service from the manager as he didn't even ask what the problem was, how we can fix it, or even give a simple apology.
The wait staff were great. I'm sure the food is great too but for $75 dollars I can get twice as much food at a Pappas with better...
Read moreIt’s rare that a restaurant earns one star. Even the worst establishments usually have some redeeming qualities. Either a restaurant has to poison me OR strike out on food quality, portion size, service and price to earn that distinction.
The appetizer consisted of six medium size shrimp tossed on a plate with a little container of cocktail sauce straight from the bottle. The shrimp were served shelled and tasted like the had been in the walk-in cooler for one day too long. There was no hint of any spices and a lemon wedge was absent.
The fish dinner was delivered 30 minutes later. The server had warned me that, since it was broiled. It might be on the small size. There were three fragments of Sysco Wholesale’s finest frozen fish, each one about the size of silver dollar. Anything this small is almost impossible to cook right and these came out overcooked and dried out. Apparently, the restaurant is very generous with the batter if you order the fish fried.
The coleslaw was drenched in a vinaigrette dressing—not the creamy sauce that is customary in the south. The French fries were Sysco Wholesale’s finest crinkly cut fries from the 25 lb bag.
I did complain about the fish and coleslaw to the manager. He mumbled something about special recipes and inflation, rolled his eyes, and resumed slouching in his chair. I paid the $50 bill for two people and left...
