So tonight is Cinco De Mayo one of my favorite days to celebrate with food because I love Mexican Food.
Now because we were pressed for time running errands prior to arriving. We were stuck in the evening rush hour traffic with fellow foodies. The wait wasn't that which was expected and hostess were very accommodating after we missed the initial call for our table. So Kudos to the hosting staff, I truly appreciate that courtesy.
Now once we were sitted at the table Rufino was our waiter. He promptly brought out Chips and dips. Took our drink order and from there our service was a missed opportunity for Rufino. Not for sure if he is new to wait staff or he assumed my man and I weren't good tippers etc.
We had to hunt him down our drinks, he came back with water. Proceeded with taking my food order because my man wasn't eating just me and he wanted just drinks. After placing food order. I am still waiting on drinks, about 15 minutes. After chasing him down again. He finally returned with drinks. Same method was done with my food order. It was almost as if he was trying to avoid my table. Because he had not delivered my plate. Just 1 plate.
I watched service drinks, food and to-go containers to some women who came after us. Drinks to another table and chips and drinks to another table. Finally I got my plate. Extremely hot, probably under the salamander for a few minutes. Anyway, the food was great but unfortunately, I couldn't finish it because I consumed too many chips waiting on drinks and food
I finally got the attention of a floor supervisor in Black Shirt and asked for a to go container and the check please. And another supervisor or manager in orange polo shirt rung us up and closed the the tab.
Now my man gave him a tip of $2.00 and I wasn't going to leave him anything but a note because of service or lack of attention to us with service.
I really don't know if he is new new to wait staffing or what. But he needs to pay attention to time and customers orders etc. Today was busy but he attentive to others so I don't think that's the problem.
I am good tippers and I come there all the time and order Margaritas to go with curb side service and leave at less 6 to 7 dollars for that service.
He really put a bad taste in my mouth with service tonight. But your food was great and I noticed your other staff appeared to want to assist us but out of respect. They stayed in their sections.
Please address this service mishap with Rufino and again my drink and food was great.

Read moreI’m a bit conflicted about the experience we just had at dinner with my extended family. On the one hand, the service was excellent. Our server, Ethan S, was one of the nicest and best waiters I’ve ever had anywhere. He was calm, cool and collected with our party and happily complied with the various requests of my family members. Not only was Ethan S great, but we had several other employees serving our table and checking on us (unfortunately I didn’t get their names) throughout the evening. Our orders were correct and our food was good. So, that was the great part of the dinner. Now, the not so great - the margaritas. I realize that restaurants make their margins on alcohol - that’s universal. We, as customers, know we’re overpaying for drinks, but it’s an understood agreement between restauranteur and customer. However, the way Chuy’s serves their ritas is inappropriate. The glasses are very thick, so the volume of liquid they actually hold is lessened by this thickness. And, on top of that, they overfill these thick glasses with so much ice that you’re lucky to get maybe 4 to 6 ounces of liquid. We came to Chuy’s to enjoy great Tex-Mex and even better margaritas. We left full but still thirsty. So, my recommendation is to either ask for little to no ice in your margarita if you’re getting it on the rocks, or just go for the frozen rita - at least you’ll know your thick glass won’t be overfilled with so much unnecessary ice. Of course, I’d rather see management address this issue but until they do, my recommendation...
Read moreCan’t say anything other than five stars! Stopped by for dinner with some family that’s visiting from New York, so we had to get them to come try Chuy’s before heading back (unfortunately for them there isn’t one in NY). Everyone LOVED it per usual. We ordered fajitas (which came with rice, beans, and a big bowl of guacamole, lettuce, pico, and cheese), chicka chicka boom boom enchiladas, baja shrimp tacos, and their compuesto (which is queso with ground beef in it). All was DELICIOUS! The food didn’t take long at all to come out considering it was very busy (we were there on a Saturday night around 7:30pm). We love Chuy’s for the retro vibe of the place plus the great food obviously. The staff was all very nice and efficient as well. The hostess greeted us with such a friendly attitude! She immediately sat us with no wait and made sure the table was okay for all of us. Our server was Andy, and wow all I have to say is what an enthusiastic, cute, and well mannered young lady! She had several other tables (we were watching her go around and tend to them as well as us) and yet she still made us feel so welcome! She constantly checked in on us and made us all laugh and have a great time, she will definitely be our go-to server that we ask for from now on. We also heard her speaking Spanish to another table which we thought was very cool! Go Andy! All the staff seems to get along well which I believe makes a restaurant run a lot smoother, and that is exactly what...
