My best friend brought me here for my birthday, the girl who was the host right off the back had the worst attitude when she took my phone number and asked me how many people she had a sneer the whole time it was so annoying that right off the back bad customer service. There was a lot of people and when we finally got messaged our table was ready my friend dropped me and my daughter off at the front so we could sit down while she found parking (which is very hard to find) the hostess wouldn't sit us down until my friend found a parking spot and was physically there, i was so annoyed by this point me and my daughter were standing there in front of the doors for like 10 minutes and the girl had the worst attitude like it was my fault she wouldn't seat us... it was the worst customer service i had experienced right off the back from a HOST!!! she finally brought us in and sat us in a really uncomfortable tight spot, the place was so cute inside honestly i was just trying to enjoy my time, the girl who helped us inside was nice but i feel like i was already bothered and couldn't really enjoy the meal and the extra stuff, the food was good we got the strawberry tower and the lavender lemonade, plus our meals, and some pan dulce to go. I did notice that the silverware and dishes that we got was not like the ones the other people on other tables were getting like the lavender lemonade comes in a clear mug and we got a normal white mug like if maybe they didn't have enough dishes to serve everyone the fancy ones. which made me sad because the whole point of going there was to have a "teahouse" aesthetic. My bestie is a regular there and she even told me that the place has changed a lot since it opened, it seems like they cut corners and employ anyone now, its going from aesthetic chic to just normal cafe. i glanced at the bill and i honestly believe it was sooooooo over priced for the service and the table that wasn't a table it was a piece of wood on the wall by a window that overlooked parked cars (not visually pleasing at all)
As im reading the reviews and i see the Responses from the Owner who seems to be not so nice to the people who didn't enjoy their time, instead of apologizing and being emphatic on people who are visiting your establishment for your overpriced food that you know as a mexican is overpriced, its extremely unprofessional i see where the staff...

I went in with my family to have a nice brunch just to find nothing but rude host to server to the manager OWNER whatever she is (lady with curly curly hair) seeing how ugly she looks at her customers when they're not looking just makes sense as to why her staff is so rude!!! A poor baby in another party was crying so much that I felt horrible for the baby's mom because I can just imagine how she felt and the manager (lady with the curly hair) kept starring at her and talking to the servers about her. super priced CHILAQUILES that come with 2 eggs but tell me why my eggs were cut in HALF! I paid $40 for a plate with chilaquiles (that come with no beans by the way) 1 taco with egg that looks like McDonalds eggs, and a piece of hard bread. just ridiculous. Server NEVER came around to check if everything was ok and when she did was to give us the bill. I asked why gratuity was included or why weren't able to pay with separate cards and she said and the rudest way (body, gesture, tone) that when it's 6 ppl or more they include it MIND you ONLY 5 ppl ate bc the rest were little kids just sitting there. I asked her why she was being so rude when I had simply just asked a question just wondering. and her response was: "This is how I am and how i talk!!!!" I was so shook at how this waiter did not care of her presentation as she didn't even have to work towards her client since the minute we had sat down her tip was already counted for. she proceeded to go and tell her manager (lady with curly hair) when i see her look up and just give us the nastiest look.
I have never left a place so disappointed. I myself do not recommend CUCHARITA unless you want to pay to just be DISAPOINTED.
Worst place. I'll stick to CIELITO CAFE that food, service, and management is...
Read moreFirst of all, I try to be positive when I go to any restaurant. I go about them with an open mind. However, I was very disappointed by a few things. I went with a group of friends today. One friend had to leave early so she paid for her ticket then left. The waitress then came back and said she forgot to charge my friend for the Coke she had ordered, meaning she accidentally left it off her bill. That was $4. She wanted us to pay for it. That was really unfair. I said I would pay just to wash things over but I don't think I should have had to pay just because the waitress made a mistake.
The second issue is the price of the meals. The restaurant ran out of bacon early (at least noon) and my friends wanted to order a meal that included bacon. The restaurant said they had to charge the full price of the meal even though they couldn't provide a substitution. One friend left with her 2 kids because of this. By her leaving over the bacon, that meant that Cucharita missed the opportunity for them to purchase 3 meals. That's not smart business. Another friend ordered the plate anyway but wasn't offered a substitution for the missing bacon. That wasn't fair.
Third, my daughter and her friends wanted keychains. I asked the cashier how much the keychain was. She said $5 but charged me close to $7. How much is tax? My friend saw her receipt. The cashier charged us $6 a piece for the keychains. When we looked at the price sticker on the counter, it said $5. That's odd to overcharge like that. Once again, not fair.
In summary, the food was good and the drinks were pretty. The waitress was really nice and patient with our kids. If she hadn't charged me for that Coke, which wasn't mine and not my fault, then I would have given more stars for the service. The food just wasn't worth the amount we paid. Would I...
